  1. Brother Giles has given us a wonderful mixture of his storytelling talents as well as his production talents! What a
gift to all of us that he is the new host of the Secrets of Harry Potter Series - and a wonder to hear the printed word spring to life through all of his efforts. So, get yourself a butter beer, or your favorite beverage, and curl up in your favorite comfey chair and be ready for Brother Giles to take you on our 12th [and his first...] magical journey!

    Gracias Hermano Giles!
    Godspeed in all your journeys,

    Kathy Couture

  2. Hi,
just wanted to say thank you for a great new episode. Will there be regular shows, now that we have a new host?

Looking forward to the 13th show!

    Have a nice week!

    Yours,
    Susi

  3. Thanks for continuing this commentary on the world of Harry Potter. The writers did a terrific job of looking into the meaning behind the three wizarding schools. Five stars for the editing and performance by Brother Giles!

I’ve read recently that the Harry Potter books have contributed to improving worldwide literacy of an entire generation. Those who don’t buy that idea should listen to this podcast.

  4. I’m glad the new episode has pleased.

I don’t want to give away any secrets (the scriptwriters are at this moment huddled around a couldron throwing in all sorts of strange ingredients - well, okay, they’re brainstorming)

But I can say that there might be, shortly, some “eye-catching” information coming up in SHP#13, if you’re in the “mood” for it.

When that will be is all up to the scheduling folks at network HQ. But isn’t suspense all part of the delight?

  5. Hey!
I’d just wanted to say that you need now to change the Desripion Now from “fr. Roderick” to “Fr. Roderick and Br. Giles Baker!”

  6. First of al: thank you for a great new episode of TSOHP.

In reaction on your thougt that Dumbledore wanted to hold the tri wizard tournament in reaction to the event that took place during the Quidditch WC: Percy makes a remark regarding the TWT in Chapter 5. So the TWT was planned lang before the Quidditch WC final.

  7. I’m so glad that this podcast is back! Great work Br. Giles! And to the editorial team: keep it up!

  8. Hi!

Wonderful episode. I’m looking forward to the next ones.
I think you mispronounced Hermione’s name. In fact, you said it the almost same way, as we pronounce it here in Slovakia :)
    Thanks,
    Karol

  9. Thanks for the feedback - both here and in the forum.

I’m sorry if there are some names that get a rather strange pronunciation. I live in Spain where nothing gets dubbed, so most of the times I’ve seen the movies or talked about the characters I’ve done so in Spanish, and that kind of interferes. Just wait till you hear me mis-pronounce the prison as Athkaban! We’ve many a cringe and a wince ahead of us on our journey. I’ll have to brush up my phonetic script for some notes in the script margins.

  10. Maybe this would help: her-MY-oh-nee
