  1. A lot of people are very nervous about Podshow+. Reason being, they are changing the URL people use to subscribe to your podcast. Once they control the feeds, they have the right to insert their own ads before or after your podcast. I have a page also, so I\’m not saying don\’t use it, but \”be careful out there\”

  2. You should put together an online text of the fish recipes you’ve received. “Fridays In Lent: Fish Recipes from The Daily Breakfast”. ;-)

  3. I’m a Third Degree Knight of Columbus and the chaplain of the College Council at Franciscan University. Just a bit more about the Knights - they are very active in Catholic media and providing financial assistance to the Vatican for broadcasting.

    Their website is http://www.kofc.org/

  4. This Podshow place looks like MYSPACE….there are already podcasters on MYSPACE…why is PODSHOW a better mouse trap?

This social networking stuff is beginning to get so diluted!

    Anyways…I dug you.

  5. @George: Podshow has changed their policy towards feeds: they now use they original URL. From Curry.com: “All xml icons on PodShow+ should now be hyperlinked to the original feed url. This also resolves the copyright re-writing issues. Silly mistake on our part, interesting presumptions from some folks.”

  6. That’s good news Father. I like the idea of Podshow. That was the one thing that made me a bit uneasy. It’s still a bit buggy, but so was myspace for a long time. They’ll work it out I’m sure.

And Quentin, my 2 cents is, one of the nice features is not the who digs me, but you can see someone else’s play list. You find someone who likes some of the same shows you like, you can check out their playlist to maybe find something new.

  7. Friday Prayer today was a great experience. It was more convenient for me than some, as 1:00pm eastern is noon here in the Midwest so I just take an early lunch to be at church by noon. Another cool thing is that I was there in church by myself listening to the quite and praying when the noon bells of this old church (old by our standards 100 years) began to ring a joyful announcement of noon and the glory of god, I have to say I enjoyed that a lot.

    Peace be with you

  8. It looks like Podshow is offering many of the same features as the recently launched blubrry.com.

It’ll be interesting to see how these two comparable services develop.

  9. If Adam Curry can create podshow.com, can’t we also create a Christian counterpart, Godshow.com??? (Does this remind some of you something?) :D

  10. Father
Jimmy Buffet is pronounced Buff’-it. Just thought you’d want to know.

    From a parrothead!

  11. Hey! Ik hoorde je net op de reclame! erg erg erg gaaf

  12. Saw you on the telly (veronica)…cool

are you going to be the new Antoine Bodare.. ??

  13. Hey, Why diddn’t you call yourself Godshow? (go to CI#19 and CI#26 to learn more.)

  14. I would like to inform you that sqpn also got free advertising in a magazine wich is free on all of SAS flights “scanorama” in an article about godcasting praystation portable was mentioned.

  15. More on the Knights of Columbus…

As Fr. Beshoner implies, there are different degrees of knighthood in the K of C–four, to be precise. Only fourth degree knights have the “costume”–fancy hat, cape, sword, etc.

  16. I have been meaning to get around to commenting on your last few shows. I have really enjoyed the Latin segment you recently started. Having attended Catholic elementary and high schools, I had 2+ years of latin. In college I studied to become a doctor so a lot of my latin came in handy, but now that I’ve been out of college ~15 years and never entered med school, my latin has fallen by the wayside. I appreciate you refreshing my memory and putting us all in touch with the beauty of the Mass in Latin. Thanks and God Bless.

  17. Just set up my podshow profile. Still fumbling around with it. One of the things that made myspace so popular (we have a profile for our show) is that while it is simple, it is also VERY easy to use. Podshow is very complex compared to myspace and I think they fail miserably in the user interaction aspect of the site. Some nice features, but otherwise a pain the b*** to use.

  18. Hi there from downunder,
wanted to quickly say that I will be praying with you all this friday. I’m a nurse and will be on night-shift!

Also wanted to say am loving the latin lessons, am inspired to seek out a church with a latin mass sometime soon so that I can practice!

    God Bless.

  19. Fr. Roderick, you mentioned in the show that you could not find the “Secrets of Harry Potter” podcast on PodShow+. I have a cool hack for you that will enable you to find any podcast, all you need is the URL for the XML feed.

    Use the base PodShow URL:
    http://www.podshow.com/shows/?feed_url=

And append the URL for the XML feed (works for every feed that I have tried so far):
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/secretsofharrypotter

    For a final URL of:
    http://www.podshow.com/shows/?feed_url=http://feeds.feedburner.com/secretsofharrypotter

    Enjoy!
