I just wanted to thank you for sharing the prayer request for parents of autistic children. Please know that I DO pray for all of you, as often as I think of it. I hope that will be far more often now.
People may not know that the divorce rate in families with disabled children is far higher than the already too-high rate in the general population. I say that not to scare Greg & Jennifer, or any other couple, but just to remind myself that there’s no such thing as too much praying for families who are coping with disabled children, no matter what the disability.
Our society is trying to solve the difficulties of coping — but by making sure fewer disabled children are conceived or live to be born. As Catholics, we have GOT to use all our spiritual weapons to affirm the value of even very frustrating and impaired people.
I’m getting a little garbled, so I’m going to stop.
