  1. [...] Paul Camarata is back on the air… well… the ipod, anyway, with a new SaintCast. This time he’s covering the Assumption of Mary, Marian relics (and the lack thereof), and the visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich. Check it blog and podcast at this address: http://www.sqpn.com/?p=310. Good stuff. Check it out. [...]

  2. Dear Dr. Camarata,
Thank you for the excellent episode of Saintcast dedicated to the feast of Assumption. This is definitely my favourite one.
What a beautiful story that you told us! I had tears in my eyes as I listened to it. I really wish I could be there at the death and the assumption of Our Lady. I am sure many listeners feel the same way.
Best wishes for your daughter as she starts a new chapter of her life.
Greetings from east-central Illinois (which is not too far from West Bend, Indiana),
    Jack

  3. Jack,

Thanks so much for the comments. The book about Mary is incredibly detailed, from what I’ve read so far. I’ve also looked at her book on the Passion. One really gets the impression that she was a visionary and actually saw these things.
I probably drove not too far north of where you are – I’ll be through here many times over the next 4 years. Perhaps we could meet up sometime.

    Pace e bene,
    Paul

  4. Dear Paul,
Thanks for your kind words. I am very much looking forward to the chance that we can meet up sometimes around Illinois and Indiana. I’ll be around here for about another two years or so. If there’s anything I can be of help for your daughter, please let me know.
Oh, by the way, in the episode, you talked about the house that Mary lived with St. John the Baptist. I think you meant St. John the Evangelist. As we know, St. John the Baptist was beheaded before the crucifixion of Jesus.
Thanks again and I’m looking forward to the next show.
    Pax et Bonum,
    Jack

  5. Dear Paul,
I remember somewhere in this episode or the last, you mentioned about the transfer or the relic of St. Mark from Constantinople to Venice. However, if I remember correctly, I think the Venician merchants stole the relic of St. Mark from Alexandria, Egypt to Vanice’s St. Mark’s Cathedral, in the fear that the muslims might destroy or desecrate it. If I’ve been mistaken, plese let me know. Thanks again.
    Jack

  6. I heard the first mistake the first time I listened to it. The second is simply poor ad-libbing. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Venice and I simply remembered incorrectly. Actually, I visited Amalfi on the same trip, and I believe the relics in the Amalfi Cathedral are those of St. Andrew, taken from Constantinople.

Thanks for keeping me honest. The translation of relics might make for an interesting SaintCast.
