  1. Dear Fr. Roderick,
Great episode! I’m really glad that you discussed the story of the Prophet Jona. This is one of my favourite bible stories. It’s funny how he tries to run away from God, and in the mean time, it’s really reassuring to know that no matter how far away we run from God, God never gives up searching for us.

  2. Hello Fr. R.,

Jona’s story is also my favourite bible story. I remember hearing it for the first time: it was as a child. While the “big people” were in the real church we met with a small group of kids and talked about the daily reading. Good old times, life was still so easy back then…

  3. it’s good to see that there’s a new episode of this podcast. when are we going to get more of the star wars one? i loved that show, and i’m still waiting for the story about your trip to skywalker ranch. please find the time to do this. i know you are busy, but it seems like everytime i find a show i like, there aren’t any more episodes. help please!!!!!!!

  4. Dear Father Roderick,
I love The Pirates of the Carribean trilogy and i really love you podcast. I went to see Pirates 2 the day it came out and again later that week. I was really dissapointed with the ending of it though. As a thirteen year old I really love this kind of stuff. I really like how you make this podcast not just from a biblical point but also from a theological point. I think that you are doing a great job with this poscast. If you could do a podcast on the spoilers you have heard over the internet about the upcoming pirates movie that would be awsome. Thanks for the great information. Scincerly, Brett Hockenberry

  5. Wow, great episode. I never would have connected the plot line with that of Jonah. Maybe because Jack Sparrow is such a scum bag. You’re right though, he’s not going to die. It’s like a James Bond movie. He’s going to live; the fun part is seeing how he’s going to get out of the situation.

If anyone is interested… There is a great chapter in Melville’s “Moby Dick” called “The Sermon” in which (you guessed it) there is a sermon on the Book of Jonah. The minister is a former whaler whose pulpit is in the shape of a ship’s bow. Good stuff.

  6. When I listened to this pod cast the other day, I had to let you know that Scylla is pronounced (s-i-l-a) and Charybdis is pronounced (ka-rib-i-des). I hope this helps.
