I found the following article on Catholic Culture:
http://www.catholicculture.org/commentary/articles.cfm?id=216&repos=6&subrepos=1&searchid=91146

However, there is no mention that Fr. O'Connell, president of the Catholic University of America, is one of the people to endorce this "spiritual resurrection" of Jesus concept. I don't think people really even know about this prominent clergyman's dissension yet. Maybe he has retracted his views since then? In any case, it would be cool to get to the bottom of this.

In my humble opinion, the president of a Catholic university claiming the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ is not central to our faith is far more interesting than whatever oddities the Discovery Channel may offer.

Good podcast father. I didn't listen all the way through to the end, but you mentioned before the experts started talking that it was the end of your comments. However, Fr. David O’Connell, President of Catholic University of America, made an odd and disturbing comment. Can one really deny the bodily resurrection and remain Christian? I mean, that makes no sense. If Jesus spirit was all that went to heaven, how do you know He even went at all? The spirit's incorporeal in my understanding.

To be honest, I find it a little disheartening and scandalous that the president of a Catholic university would say that it doesn't matter whether or not Jesus resurrected. If Christ is not risen, in body and in soul, we're screwed. That's all there is to it.

You should do a podcast about Fr. O'Connell's statements.
