Sorry, I was in “work mode,” searching for shots I needed. It was a spur of the moment decision to record myself, so I guess I didn’t switch mental gears quite fast enough.
I downloaded this no problem in iTunes but when I try to copy to my iPod (I have a reasonably new video iPod), it says the iPod can’t play it. Is it a higher sample rate than the previous ones? I can watch it on the computer but also nice to have shows on the handheld for commuting.
Before Greg gives you the Official Answer, here is a work around.
Right click (Control click on a Mac) on the Video in the Podcast folder. You will see an option, ‘Convert Selection for iPod’. It might take iTunes a couple of seconds (read, minutes) to convert but that should fix the problem.
Fri, June 16th, 2006 – Lunch at the Stonecrest shopping mall; we talk about the Playstation 3 and Sony’s PR problems; I almost get arrested again for podcasting and we visit a monastery, where we check out Biblical Candybars, Monkbeans and the local community of Killer Ducks!

I also like the part at the very end when you give us a glimpse of your surroundings.
As a Georgia native now living in Texas, I loved seeing the monastery! It’s still a “must-do” when I go home. Greg, remember the signs that used to be along the roadside saying,”Hay for Sale at Monastery”? For many years they baked bread out there, now I think it’s fruitcakes.
thanks for the visit to the Monastery!!! You guys have been mentioning this Monastery for so long in your casts, and I have long wondered about it, what it looks like and sounds like (latin or english-speaking? Modern music or Gregorian chant?) You mentioned that the monks are cloistered, but what Order do they belong to? Does Rosary Army have a free rosary bin (with documentatino on your apostolate) at that ‘new’ giftshop? Thanks for the references to your childhood, thanks for everything, in fact. God bless!
The monks are English speaking Cistercian monks. As far as a free Rosary bin, they actually sell similar types of Rosaries and are dependent on sales from the gift shop for their livelihood, so I’ve never even approached them about that idea, though I wish I could.
Great video! (As are all the Rosary Army Videos.) I just love monasteries and the atmosphere they create.
Greg, SMILE! By the end you were actually there. At the start you looked very serious and, almost, scary.

Thanks – love seeing “behind the scenes”!
Hey! Will your mom share her recipe for chocolate chip cookies? I’m craving them now.

Very well done !
This is the place you showed Fr. Roderick when he was over last year, right ?

@Marco
Thanks very much for this tip. Hadn’t realised this was an option. My machine is now chugging away with the conversion.
Thanks again and God bless!
Very cool video, Greg. The monastery looks amazing! I would love to see it in person some day.
Of course this might just be a commentary on America, but everything seems so big and beautiful.

Yes, now it’s fruitcakes. I wish they baked bread, though. Or brewed beer.
