  1. Awesome. I was waiting for this one!

  3. Tolkien was a catholic, or wasn’t he? I was told he had conversations with C.S. Lewis about fiction and theology.

As I remember it correctly Lewis wanted to preach using fiction and Tolkien was a little opposed to it. Tolkien preferred to cover it up and tell just a great story with just hinting to it.

  4. Excellent first episode. I enjoyed you virtual sound seeing tour :) . “I am being attacked by wolves. Pardon the interruption” LOL! If that was real life Father, like your other tours, I would be worried…

Looking forward to the next episode!

  5. The sound seeing tour was what grabbed me. That’s what you do best. And I totally do NOT play video games and you got me interested! Nice going.

  6. Father, you not only got us hooked on the game but Catholic podcasting. Having discovered it just last week I’ve been trying to catch up ever since. And so were my children! Thank you again for providing this series and I look forward to each and every one.

    God Bless You!

  7. I have a funny story to tell about when I listened to this podcast. I was driving my 6-year-old son and playing the podcast in the car. He was busy playing Lego Star Wars on his Gameboy, so I assumed he wasn’t listening at all. When we got home, he asked me, “What was game was Father Roderick playing? I heard he was attacked by wolves. Why wasn’t he attacked by other people?” First of all, I hadn’t realized that Father Roderick had become a household name! Secondly, I guess he was actually listening, especially when it comes to video game sounds.

  8. You pot- casts are really cool, clear talk. I don’t have much problems with the grrammar mistakes because I’m Hollander myself so I know mistakes that are made much by dutch people.
I’m 12 ,yself and I like everything ’round Tolkiens world. I don’t play Shadow of Angmar, ’cause for me that sort of paying is to expensive to play. I’ve seen all the films, also in the extended cut. That’s really cool, because you see then much of the scenes that didn’t made it to the final film.
The making of and other documantaires make it really exciting to see. Then you know what’s all done to made that brilliant films. There are featerus about Tolkien and his ideas about live and his books. I’ve played the normal games, but that were much to much hack and slash. I like to play RPG’s like Battle for Middle -Earth. That was something I did like very much.

  9. Great podcast, very clear english! I can’t wait till the next one. I showed it to many people here in Brazil and everybody liked it.
    Success for you!
    See you next adventure!!

  10. Dear Father Roderick,

You say that in your podcasts you try to include people of every differnet faith. Don’t you think priests should LEAD PEOPLE TO GOD? You should give a catholic perspective on everything.
Is Shadows of Angmar free? If it is, could you give me the website to go play it? I’m really not a gamer, but I know some people who are interested in it.
Good job on the podcast, I have kids 8-12 who listen and enjoy them! I escepially enjoyed The Secrets of the Carriebean. GOOD JOB!
    God Bless!

  11. Dear Father Roderick,
I recently e-mailed you and I;m not sure you got it so I wanted to leave a comment here. I love your podcast and I hope you can do more soon. I glad your knee is feeling better so maybe you will feel up to doing some more podcasts ;) . If you’ve been cooped up inside all this time im sure you’ve gotten a bit stronger so maybe you could take us to a more dangerous place. Best Wishes.

  12. When are you going to have some new episodes? I love this podcast!!! Pleeeeeeeaaaaase?
