The patron saint of Carp is obviously St. Polycarp.
@Jeff Miller
How about the patron saint of Swordfish - St. Longinus.
Paul,
Continuing on Jonah is the patron saint of whales - he knows them inside-out.
Surely Mackerel must have a patron saint since you sometimes hear the phrase Holy Mackerel.
…and getting “hooked in” I offer the following:
Since St. Padre Pio has promised to “wait at the gate” and not enter Heaven until all the ’spiritual children’ have come home… is it possible that he’s the Patron of the ones who “almost got away”?
And, speaking of Mackerel… I heard somewhere that those 2 fish of the “3 barley loves and 2 fish” fame were Mackerel… and when the Apostles saw what was happening in those baskets, well, you know the rest!
About ten years ago in 1997 we were driving in the west of Ireland listening to BBC-NI when the most gorgeous music came on. I decided I would look it up later, but the problem was that I hadn’t been paying that much attention when the announcer had given the name of the work and described it; all I really remembered was that it was in honor of some saint in Scotland (well, it would still have been Caledonia in those days). An hour later, a thoroughly enjoyable hour of beautiful music and lovely landscape later, she said it again, but I didn’t have a chance to write it down. So naturally I forgot.
Fast forward eight years ago. I’ve searched in vain many times on the increasingly useful internet when I found a CD with that recording by chance (as it were) in my local music store.
So what has this obscure memory to do with the Saint Cast? The answer to the Saint Jeopardy was St. Kentigern, and this music, dedicated in honor of a Scottish (by modern geography) saint is titled “The Miracles of St Kentigern”. More can be learned about the music and the saint on the site of the group that recorded the music:

On that page it says, “Glasgow’s sixth-century patron saint is accepted as an historical figure and is reputed to have been the founder of the city and its first bishop.” That should answer your question, Paul.
Don’t forget St. Anthony preached to the fish —who pay close attention in contrast to the people of Rimini, Italy.
