The premiere episode of the brand new video podcast from Rosary Army and SQPN! Join us as we ask the age old question, “Do you ever wonder why Catholics sit, stand, and kneel so much?
Hey I’m really impressed by the show. You guys get more and more professional and that’s the way you can reach the world…
It doesn’t seem like a private production anymore but more like a production that could even be part of a coverage of a big TV station.
Did you learn all the editing stuff yourself or did you have help from a TV producer?
And I like the outtakes
Greetings from Lake Constance Germany
The show is very good, well done to all the producing team!
One thing - from my recent experience in churches in different countries (Brazil, Hong Kong, Japan and even in US - NYC), no kneeling in the Mass. Could this be up to each Diocese do decide?
Hey guys! Wow, that was worth the wait!!! Incredible job - Jennifer, you are a natural. I can’t wait to share this with my kids, their teachers and lots of others too. Thanks for having it on YouTube which will make it very easy for me to post in on my site with a strong recommendation that my readers subscribe immediately. Can’t wait for the next one! Lisa, CatholicMom.com
[...] out the new video podcast from SQPN,That Catholic Show! Sorry, no captioning yet… anyone who wants to volunteer to do that or provide transcripts [...]
Great work, Jennifer and Greg! Fast-paced, funny and informative. You make a perfect host, Jennifer. I’ll be watching this again when I play it for my mother.
Very informative and fun for this non-Catholic. (Looks great on AppleTV, BTW.) . Loved Jodie’s ears(!) Good production and post work. Animation design nicely fits the show’s tenor. Jennifer, you’re a natural in front of the lens - watch out for groupies forming
Itty-bitty suggestion: minimum 3-seconds on each closing credit would help the read.
Hey guys! That was an awwwwwesome 1st episode. This is really a professional production and doesn’t seem to me like a tiny private production anymore but more like a show that could be even be a part of a short prime time coverage on TV.
And yet that’s the way how to reach the world! Keep doing your professional productions.
Did you learn all the editing stuff and the way on how to present a show yourself??? Amazing… Or do you have to confess that you secretly joined a journalist and producers class ?
Great job! You’ve done the nearly impossible. Your show is informative - and fun.
We’re going through preparation for our younger son, Paolo, to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist next year when he is in the second grade. Over the years we went through this with our older son and I was also involved in RCIA at our parish for about three years before Paolo was born, but for the first time the parish is trying something different - a family-based preparation. The children meet with their peers and the parents meet as a group to discuss integrating faith throughout family life. The approach is great - the materials they use are awful. We’ve sat through boring, joy-sucking videos that make you wonder what possessed the people who made them. The shows also rated high in the Stepford quotient - people so perfect that they were unreal and kind of creepy. What you are doing takes exactly the right approach. Jennifer - you do a fantastic job on camera.
Earlier in the year I spoke with the nun who is running the program about SQPN. She said that she couldn’t tell parents about the podcasts because it is policy. To tell the parents implies that the programs have been endorsed by the diocese according to her. We spoke a little more about it and what I’m going to do is make CDs with samples of the programs for the parents along with a handout about podcasting in general and directions about how to access the programs both with and without an MP3 player. I’ll add something about You Tube and include an episode of the new show. We’ve got only two more meetings until we break for the summer and I think that the SQPN programs would be a great resource for families to keep active in faith formation over the summer.
- Thanks again. Maureen
I knew by her voice that Jennifer was going to be pretty (no I am not a stalker). Great video and will be a wonderful fun intro to R.I.C.A. classes. Thanks for equipping the body of Christ (eph 4:12)
Wow! What a professional show! And such a lovely hostess!!!
Funny and gently informative, too. I can’t tell you how impressed I am! You guys are definitely meant to do this. Godspeed for many more - you are truly blessed with a gift for bringing the faith to others.
Do continue to include the bloopers. They were great!
This sets the bar very high for the shows to come….
I don’t know if its appropriate to make suggestions yet, but I wished you or Fr. Roderick would make a show about pilgrimage some day.
Pilgrimage is such an interesting topic - unfortunetly it has been covered by SQPN very rarely so far.
Obviously I am not talking about a pilgrimage of several months - a simple day hike would already provide great material for several TCS shows !
For instance the famous “Way of St. James” towards Santiago de Compostella in Spain… it starts right on the doorstep of Fr. Rodericks home ! http://www.santiago.nl
Congratulations to your first awesome episode. The information is delivered in a very professional and entertaining way. Outstanding presentation and production. I only found it hard to read the credits at the end. They came and went pretty fast.
Are you confused about whether to sit, stand or kneel during Mass, and when? That Catholic Show has the answer for you (complete with hilarious out takes)! You’ll definitely want to add That Catholic Show’s feed to your daily reading/viewing!…
Boston Catholic TV in the Archdiocese of Boston, MA has a show on called Blink! where they do 15 minute segments on the Church. I am going to send them this link and exhort them to look at this. This is really good stuff!! Congratulations.
Wow!! I didn’t expect it to be so professional, yet fun and useful at the same time. You deserve the best review possible: exceeds expectations! I agree with Father Roderick: best show yet. Keep up the great work.
Awesome work guys, keep up the gooood work. It’s interesting, well presented, well tought, with a hint of humour which should help people to remember the important facts. Congratulations on a successful first show!
Competition is always good for the client, as they say.
But honestly, regarding video production I had always thought that Fr. Roderick would lead the pack within SQPN. Until I saw the first TCS episode (-> co-produced by Father Roderick).
Maybe they should have shown this episode before Mass for my nephew’s First Communion; maybe two-thirds of the folks there didn’t know, or forgot, to kneel during the Consecration.
Good grief… I’m finally done with these midterms. I already got the result for two of them, one was so-so, one was exceptionally good. I haven’t got the result for the other two, but rest assured - the one I just took this afternoon i…
thank you so much for your kind comments! Greg and I are breathing a big ol’ sigh of relief. We will do our very best to keep delivering good content to you all. God bless.
Excellent video–exactly what we need to show the vibrancy and commonsense of our Catholic faith. I can’t think of anyone, Catholic or non, who would not enjoy this great explanation of Catholic aerobics! Looking forward to the next installment!
I thought the show was so good, I subscribed and downloaded it to my ipod. Unfortunately, when I tried playing it on my ipod … it has crashed. Anyone else able to play it on an ipod?
I have experienced this as well. In fact, RA Video Podcast #10-14, and Catholic Minute #10 and 11 have done the same.
I noticed that they’ve been encoded as mp4 files, which for some reason do not automatically transfer to a video iPod.
Just right-click on these files in iTunes, and choose “Convert selection for iPod”, and they’ll transfer. Just be aware that the converted files will show up under the “Movies” section in Videos, and not in the video podcast list.
Wow, look at all the comments! Excellent show. Perfectly timed, funny and I learned something new about why I sit, stand and kneel during Mass. I will forever view it as aerobics
This was fantastic! I’ve been looking forward to it since you started talking about it months ago. This can be a great catechesis tool. I’ll be using it in my RCIA and Confirmation work.
Very good sow we loved the humor and message in the show, you set the bar high it was well produced! It was more than worth the $10.00 access fee on vacation to get to see it last night on debut day!
Awesome!! I’ll be showing this to my wonderful, adolescent but bored at mass children tonight!!!! You are a natural and I’m looking forward to more of these fun and informative shows that will help us become stronger in our faith!
This is THE most professional, right on the money podcast I have seen. E X C E L L E N T Takes podcasting to another level I’ll be keepin’ this one for later! Looking forward to MORE! Go guys

They are encoded as M4V files, and then I rename them to MP4 for greater accessibility. I can keep the filename M4V, but that limits the players that can handle the files.
A new application is being released next week that should make it easier to create versions for AppleTV, iPods, and other formats. I’ll try that out next week.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Video compiling is such a fluid and ever-changing science.
Fantastic, wonderfull, brilliant. That Catholic Show, great, crisp, informative and fun. Super job well done. Love the SQPN website redesign to. Glad I make my monthly donation. Keep up the good work. Love to you two and all the sqpn family. Andrew UK.
I thought it was like a school’s programme, the sort of thing that is shown on the Learning Zone on BBC2 and is recorded by primary school teachers to be shown to juniors. It had some good information in it though, and I learned a couple of things I didn’t know.
That Catholic Show is awesome! This is a quality production that raises the bar and sets an example! Good mix of serious content with a modern, fun, and interesting delivery. I think I speak for many when I say this is what we have been waiting for all along. I just wish the episode was longer
Just thought you might want to know that one of my seminarian friends saw That Catholic Show #1, and really enjoyed it…and learned from it! Who knew seminarians out there didn’t know why we go through so many Mass motions?
Most excellent work, dear Greg and Ol’ Mrs. Willits! The video was neither a snoozer nor a goof-off job; it was entertaining and informative.
I bought a Rosary Army t-shirt last night. I will enjoy wearing it here at work in the buckle of the Bible Belt (East Texas). Thanks for your work and the shirt.
Grazie mille! il podcast era molto buono. (Italian - Thanks alot! The podcast was very good) I have recommended your Catholic Show to several of my fellow seminarians over here in Rome. I figure if we promote great Catholiuc media before our ordination, it will remain and spread where ever we go! Keep up the great work. Love and prayers, Bro. Pat
I love it but I can’t seem to download it on iTunes or off the feed where I seem to get 404ed. I can watch on Youtube but that’s it. Keep up the great work.
Well done, you all!
Short, to the point and clear. Love the bloopers at the end.
Wishing you good luck and lots of fun with the next episodes!

Thanks for the info!
If you go into your iTunes library, and rename the files with the “.m4v” extension, they sync to a video iPod just fine.

Awesome job, really enjoyed it…very professional. And as someone who oversees music videos for the band I manage (Last Day)I know how hard that is.
