CI#82 - The Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and a Ride Along the Tiber

Fountain

In this episode of the Catholic Insider, we visit the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. From there, I’ve only got 10 minutes to go to the Vatican, but will I make it in time?

  1. What a great way to start the day. Thanks, Father. You are even more fun to listen to than Samantha Brown on the travel channel. You definitely need your own show on tv. The world is missing out on someone really cool.

  2. This podcast about the Fontana de Trevi made me remember this picture we took there in 2004!

He was taking pictures of tourists and printing over there!

  3. I was shocked, Father Roderick, to hear that you know the location of all the McDonalds restaurants in Rome, which presumably means you eat in McDonalds! For someone who podcasts regularly on healthy living, this does not seem compatible. Have you seen the film Super Size Me by Morgan Spurlock? It’s a great film… perhaps it would be a good topic for discussion on the Daily Breakfast?

  4. Lylilddid, I know the location of the McDonalds restaurants because I studied in Rome, many years ago.

    I don’t eat at McDonalds!

  5. Wow, this sound-seeing tour was like a real-life game of Frogger! Since you are still podcasting, I’ll assume you got through it alive and in one piece ;)

  6. Once again, it is so good to listen to your adventures! Thanks Father, for all the effort!

  7. I enjoyed listening to your latest adventures in Rome, and I also appreciate your background knowledge of the area. I look forward to part 2 :)

  8. Last Sunday (May 27, 2007) NPR: World Story of the Day podcast was a 6:30 mins piece on “Subway Dig Unearths Rome’s Ancient Past”. You may like to listen to this if you have not heard it yet. Here is the direct link npr_10488250.mp3 to the audio file (3 MB).

I’m a big fan of your podcasts for a long time now. The Catholic Insider is my favorite.
