Our oldest son recently received his first Communion. We couldn’t have been more proud of how respectfully he approached the Lord’s table for the first time. This short video follows him along the way to receiving the Eucharist for the first time.

Ohh, this was just beautiful. Very moving. Thanks for sharing this, it means a lot.
Ditto. Thanks Greg and Jennifer. You are a beautiful family.
Hey, you’re not supposed to get people all teary-eyed at work.
Thank you so much, Greg, Jennifer, and Sam, for sharing such a significant event with us.
Hooray Sammy!
The hugs at the end show it all. The Christ alive in the family, and the unity you share together.
Welcome Sammy to full communion!
Bob
Awww… clearly a big day!
The love you have for your children is clear.
And a clever little text at the end!
Sam,
Congratulations! May every time you go and receive Jesus be as special to you as it was on this wonderful day.
Thank you Greg and Jennifer for sharing this special moment with us. I have no idea how I’m going to hold it together for my Julian’s First Communion if I can’t even do it when watching your lovely video.
May God bless your entire family
That was beautiful! I’m still tearing up! It’s so clear how important it was to him! You have a little Saint on your hands! Thank you for sharing this!
God bless you all!
This is indeed an awesome and moving video, and I thank you for sharing this! May this video be seen by lots and lots of people, so that thay may be touched and maybe find the way to Christ again through this splendid example.
Great video !
I just didn’t understand the “possibly 4 sacraments to go” statement.
Hmmmm, is such a scenario really possible ?
Pls. help me out.
Thanks all, for the kind words.
Thomas - Theoretically, if Sam ever got married, and his wife died, then he could become a priest. That’s two Sacraments. The other two he’d be up for are Confirmation and Anointing of the Sick (often called Last Rites).
If Sam gets married and lives the rest of his life with his bride, OR if he becomes a priest (which I think would cause me to smile non-stop for several years), then he’d only be eligible for two other Sacraments.
I’ve always said that if, God forbid, something happened to Jennifer and I was widowed, I’m going to look for a seminary with daycare.
Wow…what a gorgeous video, thank you so much for sharing it & congratulations to Sam
Right with you Greg!

Beautiful! I loved his answer to your question if he was ready, and he said, “All I can say is, (big sigh) here we go!”
Thanks for sharing that Greg and Jennifer, it was very special. Well done Sammy!
Actually, he could marry and be a deacon.
Just sayin’.
Way to go, Sammy! Terrific video, thanks for sharing Sam’s wonderful day with us.
Here is a young dutch reformed minister from Holland… just crying. Thank you for sharing this. I love the podcasts and videos you make! Give kind greetings to Sam!

Thanks for sharing this very touching moment with us all, Greg and Jennifer.
You two are becoming a great inspiration for me and my husband on the morning following our legal marriage…
Sending you and Sammy the best from Switzerland!
No Mary, No Jesus - Know Mary, Know Jesus…
Anyone who draws near to Mary through her rosary, draws deeper into the heart of her son, Jesus, in the Eucharist.
God Bless you, Sammy!

How lovely! I got really tears in my eyes as I was reminded , seven years ago when my own dear Son made his first Communion. Last year he was confirmed and I was sooo proud. You brought back all those feelings. Thanks Greg and Jennifer!

It is a true joy to see that there are Catholics, who really understand what this sacrament means!
This is THE most moving testimony to the Catholic Church and indeed the Christian faith that I have seen in a very very long time.
…Wow
God bless you and your family!
Ditto! How incredibly moving it was to see how much receiving Jesus meant to your son. Many graces at work in this family. What a fine example you set, and what a powerful witness. And indeed, pictures speak far louder than words. Every parent of a first communicant should see this.
BTW, where did the lovely guitar accompaniment come from? Who is the artist?
I imagine the day may come in the future when Sammy will be embarrased that his parents film him for podcasts. I could just hear my kids now.
Enjoy it while you can!
Excellent!
Simple but very powerful way of showing the real presence of Jesus. With that video, I just saw Him.
God bless…
