I have to say that I agree with your review of Pirates-3… both the good and the bad. I enjoyed it, but not nearly as much as Pirates-1 and 2.
Did you sit all the way through the credits for the surprise at the end? (This was also the case in Pirates-2). It leaves the door open for Pirates-4 I suppose…
Father,
just two minor suggestions to further optimize the - already terrific - SQPN Homepage:
1. Last Comments:

============
As soon as the “commentator” enters his URL, his name is displayed in absolutely the same way as the underlying topic (-> with bullet and in grey color). This makes the Last Comments section on the right side pretty difficult to read. (you sometimes wonder if the link actually refers to a topic or a person
2. SQPN Main Feature
=============
The idea of having this teaser on top of the page is actually pretty good - it instantly gets you into “SQPN-mood”. However, the picture is simply to large. In my eyes 2/3 rd of the height would be absolutely sufficient. Moreover: you could immediately see the “What’s new ?” section, whithout the necessity to scroll down…..
Anyway, just keep up the great work !
Fr. Roderick, I believe the RSS feed is having trouble. It hasn’t been updating.
Hi Father Roderick,
I was catching up on some recent shows and was sorry to hear about your running pains. You already got some good comments on this, but perhaps I can add something my physiotherapist recommended to me, an approach to running designed to minimize stress/overuse injuries called “Chi Running”. It’s described in a book of the same name by Danny Dreyer, an ultramarathon runner. The focus is on modifying your stride and your posture, so that you run in a more relaxed fashion. Some of the explanations of why the modifications work are questionable, but it seems plausible that the theory is right even if the justifications are wrong
I haven’t had a chance to test it over a long period yet since I only recently started running again after a knee surgery earlier this year, but I have fewer of my running-related aches and pains - which I would get despite custom orthotics - and I feel good even after running downhill (not that this is a problem you would have in Amersfoort!).
Best wishes,
Ana
You need a lighted pen for taking notes in a dark theatre. Ask for one at your stationary store, or you can find them at amazon.com. They are inexpensive, and I am sure that you will find them useful.

Father,
Thank you for your Lourdes story in the last episode - a great inspiration and food for my journey.
God bless,
Heather
@Father:TJ’s suggestion for a lighted pen is a good one, but wouldn’t it be more fun to get a MacBook Pro with a lighted keyboard???
Fr. Roderick -
I know you are a Dave Ramsey fan, as am I. Recently, someone asked him what he thought of the credit card that gives a percentage of use to an organization of the Catholic Church. Considering he often quotes the Bible by saying “the debtor is a slave to the lender,” he said the card was “stupid.”
I was wondering if you have an opinion of such a credit card?
Love the show - yours is my favorite podcast of many I listen to.

Hi Father,
Just a quick reaction on your review of the Pirates as I am just back from the cinema. After your review I braced myself, and my friends, for the second half of the film. May be it is because of your comments or maybe it is because my purpose was different, but I actually really enjoyed it. Okay the storyline is perhaps not the greatest, but I didn’t expect anything else than light entertainment.
@ Michael, they cut the credits short so there was no surprise. Or wait a minute, I suspect the cut the credits out and put the surprise straight at the end of the film.
What an interesting choice of people to use for the “final” word on the “until now” issue! I wish he was correct, but I can’t agree. By the definition the word, “until” indicates that what proceeds it is a change to what precedes it. The webster dictionary has this definition “used as a function word to indicate continuance (as of an action or condition) to a specified time”, meaning that after that specified time the continuance of action/condition stops and a change takes place. examples “I will wait for you until 3:00″ - means after 3 I won’t be waiting. “I didn’t have any gray hair until now” - indicates that now the speaker does have gray hair. “Store closed until 1:00PM” - means that after 1PM the store will be open. I can’t think of one example where the use of the word Until doesn’t indicate a change.
On a different note, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to see Pirates, but your review has convinced me that I should give it a chance.
Thank you again for all your hard work, I enjoy the show.
The movie was execellent! I felt like I was about to cry in some parts, and rejoice in others. I knew it was Tia Dalma who was Davy Jone’s lover.
