CST #49: One year and still here!

Kittens

This week: We have somehow managed to hang out with the podcast world for a whole year. We talk about how that amazes us and has changed our lives (for the better, we promise!) Lots has happened in the last couple of weeks. We fill you in on Katherine’s new haircut, our 8th anniversary evening out and our little boy heading off to Grandma’s house. Thanks for supporting us!

  1. Congrats on both your year of podcasting and 8 years of marriage.

I think Podcasting will open up a new generation to the beauty of the Catholic faith through evangelizing in media. That’s what I love about it… for too long it has been too expensive and too limited to get out Catholic material. Now, its wide open. Keep up the good work. I enjoy listening to all this wonderful content all day while I work. We need more of it.

Let’s witness for Christ and his Church.

    God Bless

  2. Mac! An “old” person is 50??? Ouch. Inflexibility comes from people of all ages. I guess I feel defensive because I’m only five years younger than “old” in your book… and I’m hoping for 30 more years on the planet!

    Dodderingly yours, I sign off.

  3. Thank you so much for playing your cousin Mary’s song in its entirety! That first part is perfect for your intro and the rest of it brought tears to my eyes. And I’m not even from a small town!

@Mac – re:old people – Naomi said it as well as I could have. No offense taken as I’m sure none was meant, but realize that your audience may be quite broader than you and Katherine imagine.

  4. Hi Mac & Katherine,

I’m an original listener from the beginning Catholic Insider listener and a new listener for the last few CST shows?/comedic interludes/podblast from the boonies?/Kwazy Katholic Comedies?/Mac-Kat Komedies? or whatever it is. ;)

Both of my parents were born in small towns and so was I but I never got to live in one since I was a baby so I do like your small town flavorosity that comes through on the show. However I have made a lot of visits to small towns, especially my mom’s family prairie Cajun one in southwest Louisiana and I did live there one winter for a half a year. When I was there then, I did get a couple of “You’re not from around here are you?” comments.

I like the lighter style with a little “seriousity” stuff thrown in here & there. Cousin Mary Bragg’s song is a great one for your “theme song”. Maybe sometime she could slightly redo it specifically for your CST show.

I also like the radio tuning in start. Maybe fine tune that to tuning into a bit of Daily Breakfast then into your intro or something like that.

Another suggestion might be to mention some town characters and if you could, do a short interview with them using the best wonderful uniqueness of them.

Looking forward to your Landmark CST #50 cast,
    Michael

  5. P.S. ~

Congratulations on both your anniversaries of your 8 years together & 1 year of this Kwazy Kinda Komedic show! ;)

Bless you with a million wonderful positive experiences to come in a long life,
    Michael

  6. You guys… I’m so in love with your show! I’m a semi-new listener because I found out about your show on The Rosary Army but I’m now up to the Christmas and New Year’s.

I find myself laughing at Mac’s jokes because I’m that sarcastic and I go for pop references all the time too, and now I realise how annoying I must be to my friends.

    KIDDING!

I love you guys: Mac, you are awesome, love the jokes! Katherine, you are gorgeous and way too funny. Your giggle makes me giggle. Like everywhere: on my car, at a restaurant eating lunch… I’m always smiling with you two.

    Hugs and Kisses

And now, MY pop reference that no one understands is, everytime I have coffee: “Hmmm… Gevalia…” (even if it’s not!)
