  1. Wonderful episode! Made my day! Thank you!

  2. I love this podcast. Though I’m not a catholic I enjoy listening to the research and everything that is said. When you were talking about the loss and deaths I didn’t hear what I thought was the most significant death to Harry. It shows just how much Harry has to lose when he loses his most loyal friend in the entire series, his owl Hedwig, that was his biggest loss I believe in his personal life in this entire book. Let me know if I am wrong but I just wanted to point this one out to you and let you know.

  3. Wow, I really love this new series, I hope new episodes will follow soon. Especially the episode about the Epilogue was very “enlightening”.

Fr. Roderick mentioned in DB 352 symbolism of the Eucharist in this final book. I can’t see that. Maybe you could explain it in an upcomming episode.

  4. Br Giles, I have enjoyed your podcasts on Harry Potter very much. I hope they will continue. Do you know the music of Francois Xavier Mathias? He was an Alsacian organist and titular canon at Strasbourg and I am republishing some of his music. I hope that others will find it interesting now that the Holy Father has given his blessing to the traditional, or Tridentine, rite. I always felt that chant fit rather well into the story of Harry Potter. Of course, neither John Williams nor the others included chant per se, but there are bits of the tunes that seem to lifted from the Benedictus. I very much appreciate the quality of your comments and the writing skills and dedication of those who prepare your scripts. Blessings upon your efforts! Michael

  5. I really enjoyed all the episodes. Listen and relisten them on an ongoing basis. Used some of it in my ministry. I am waiting eagerly for new episodes.

  6. This is the best podcast I’ve found on HP. Your information is first rate A #1. Your voice & technique of speaking is superlative. You have a gift to continue to share online I pray. :-) The editing & use of music is fantastic. Could I say more? Yes!

    Thank you! Dean

  7. The only REAL Harry Potter podcast!! I am impressed at the knowledge of languages, history, mythology and folktales that Br. Giles Baker has. I wish he would just start with book one and continue a few chapters at a time. I enjoy Fr. Roderick, but I prefer the way Br. Giles Baker approaches the books. I also wish it was not so long between shows! But Thank you and I plan to share this podcast with my friends!!

    thank you!!!

  8. I am delighted to have found your podcast. It’s completely different and thought provoking approach to that of some of the other HP dedicated podcasts out there. You have enhanced my enjoyment of the series, with your explanation of the sources of some of JK Rowlings inspiration and its clear ecumenical messages. I have downloaded the Narnia and Lord of the Rings “secrets” also and am planning to listen to those during a re-read of those books.

Thank you to everyone involved in the HP Secrets - roll on the next episode!

  9. When can we expect another segment? I’d love to hear a long commentary reguaridng the entire series. Will you do a segment reguarding Father Christmas for the holidays? Love everything you do!!

    Blessings
    -Ann

  10. Please. Could you publish another segment?? Listening to your podcast really helps me go deeper into the “spirtual” apects of Harry Potter. Some of your thoughts I never even considered before listening! ;)
    Thanks, and God Bless! :)

  11. I think this is an amazing podcast and I was wondering when you plan on publishing an additional episode… I really enjoy listening to them.

  12. Your podcast is always well written and engaging. Please publish more! I was very much looking forward to further analysis of the Deathly Hallows. I miss hearing the intellectual discussion of the books!

  13. Love the podcast. Well researched and fascinating. I do hope that there will be future episodes, I would love to hear your examination of the themes later in the book.

    A warm thank you!

  14. I love these podcasts, I am not Catholic, but I looked forward every month to hearing more about the Secrets of Harry Potter! When are more going to be done? Let us know please!
Much Love and Respect for all
    Ben

  15. This is by far the best Harry Potter podcast I’ve ever listened to — very well researched and interesting. I am not Catholic, but I think the Christian themes in the story are extremely interesting. I eagerly await podcasts on the later chapters of DH!

Thanks very much for a great addition to the Harry Potter fandom!
