  1. Father Bill,

My prayers are with you. I’m sure the papers just couldn’t resist the “hook” of a bar brawl with roots in the church picnic! Perhaps this will be the turning point for some involved to think about how their drinking might be affecting their lives and those of others. May God use all this for good.

  2. Father Bill!

Concerning the brawl: it is very sad that something like that is happening. But it does happen. I think you did everything you could, also with your statements in the newspapers. I think, the articles were not that bad. Our newspapers over here would have been much more hostile. My prayers are with you and your parish! You do a fantastic job, be strong, go your way! Hopefully you get the support in your parish that you deserve!

Concerning the show’s length: I think, it is fine. I love those shows of about 25 to 30 minutes. Keep it up! Unfortunately, releasing the show on a daily basis did not work out, but I do understand that. It takes a lot of time. So, I am fine with a weekly show of 30 minutes.

And about geek stuff: I love it, also in your podcast ;)

    Greetings from Germany!

  3. Christ’s Peace!
Hope you are well. The brief mention of your parishes (hopefully I didn’t hear you incorrectly) reminds me of a similar situation that a Priest friend of mine is experiencing. Sadly, many Priests are finding themselves dealing with what you could call legacy waste: years or decades of bad theological teaching, rebellious clergy and lay people, decline of sacred devotions, and a devaluing of the sacraments. Any effort in teaching the truth is seen as attacking the parish or being so ‘pre-Vatican II’ yet the reality is that you are merely continuing the implementation of the Council. As you said, “The truth is the truth.” The truth is all there is to teach and nothing else. I will keep you in my daily prayers.
    God be with you
    Mark
