Just wanted to let you know that there is no audio streaming icon on the page so that one can easily click on & listen to this program on a extremely controversial subject.
I think this is a super idea! My wife and I practice NFP and have been trying to spread the word to our Catholic and non-Catholic friends. God Bless.
I think that this is a good idea for the fact that it is a subject that is not really talked about in today’s society. Also for the newly minted Catholic or even for the cradle Catholic it would provide the information needed to inform the person. Thanks again for such a resource.
I still did not find a direct streaming link for this program unlike the other sqpn shows that have that.
If you want a lot more people to listen to a new show it would be a very good idea to post a direct streaming/download link because most people browsing the web will not go to the extra trouble of subscribing to it with a seperate program.
@JT – All of these episodes were previously posted as individual Rosary Army episodes. Those previous postings have the “click now” link. The only difference is a new introduction at the beginning of each episode. The link above is for people to subscribe and download all of them at once.
Hello! First, let me offer a hearty congratulations on your pregnancy! We are currently due with number six any day and are very excited here as well.
I wanted to comment on the feedback where the person asked for an explantion because she thought you were trying to avoid pregnancy. She felt that perhaps it would be good to address why this happened since people might think it was a case of an NFP failure.
While I understand where she was coming from, I wanted to say that I know of many, many couple who had a ‘failure’ while using all different methods of artificial birth control. The reaction to that is never the same as when couple using NFP have a ’surprise.’
In the book, The Art of Natural FAmily Planning by the Kippleys, they point out the the only 100% effective method of avoiding pregnancy is abstinence.
Yes, it’s true, NO other method is 100% effective. W/NFP, you usually can look back and find out where you might’ve missed a sign or taken a chance. But in the end, the difference is the mindset. Couples practicing NFP – ideally – accept a pregnancy ’surprise’ as God’s divine intervention. They know that can happen anytime and it’s part of the whole NFP gig. They need no more give a ‘reason’ for a surprise’ than any couple who has a surprise. And we all know that surprises have always and will always happen, regardless of the method of BC.
Sorry for the length, but it gets a little old when the ‘failures’ of ABC get glossed over while the NFP ’surprises’ get so much attention and are used as ammunition as for why it doesn’t work.
Sending sticky baby thoughts your way. May God Bless you on this new journey, Johnna H. O’Fallon, MO
Thanks to Johnna for offering such wonderful insight. I heartily agree!
My parents used NFP from 1978 on. After my youngest sister was born a series of family “events” kept them from getting pregnant with baby #5 but when my little sister was 8 (I was 15) they got pregnant with my little brother (who will turn 16 in a month!). They have dealt with mockery for years from people in our town who felt they should have “known how that kind of thing happens.” It used to make me so mad because they probably know more about how a baby gets made than anyone in my town and would be more accepting of a surprise pregnancy than anyone else I know.
The world will always see “accidental pregnancies” as failures. But we know differently!!
Thanks again Johnna and the Willits for getting this discussion going!
