My memory could be faulty on this matter, as it has been almost 30 years, but I thought that Albino Luciani actually took the name Ioannes Paulus PP. I (John Paul I) when he was elected pope. I recall thinking it unusual. (Perhaps it was to avoid possible confusion: Would he be John XXIV Paul VII, for instance?)
Also, perhaps coincidently, the title ‘Servus Servorum Dei‘ (Servant of the Servants of God) was first used by that same Gregory the Great, pope and saint, the pope mentioned by your emailer.
Fr Roderick,
Here’s the link to the Dutch Coffee. It’s pretty cool.

The title of the book by C.S.Lewis you mentioned is “The Great Divorce”, not “The Great Divide” - I love it too!
Greg, could you possibly post the episodes a bit earlier? It is such a treat when DB is actually on with my breakfast!
Speaking of protocol… Realizing that the DB is the “cornerstone” of SQPN and now “That Catholic Show” has become the video cornerstone. However, why is it that the “banner” of the SQPN site never (to my knowledge), or at least very very rarely ever has anything except “That Catholic Show”, “Rosary Army” and DB “advertised”???
You ought to promote some of the other shows that your network carries. It has been more than a month since “That Catholic Show” released a new episode, yet in that time there have been 2 or 3 Saintcasts, 2-4 “Into the Deep” shows, 4 or 5 “Hands and Feet”, 2-3 “Catholic Family Podcasts” and even 2-3 “Catholic Insiders”, the show that started it all.
Yet, none of these to my knowledge have had that banner to themselves. If they have it has been too short.
Sure, you want to publicize, but be a little more fair. Nothing personal, but I’m getting a little tired of always hearing about Greg and Jennifer…
Hans… John Paul I took the double name to honor Pope John and Pope Paul, his predecessors. Yet, it wasn’t to be a “Both names”, but rather “One” new name… thus, the FIRST.

Michael, your point about the same banners being the only ones featured for weeks is a valid one. I think inadvertendly the many other deserving SQPN podcasts have been left out of being featured/bannered on the home page. I’m sure that in the interests of being fair and highlighting the other less known SQPN podcasts that Fr. Roderick & his website “posse” will endeaver to highlight/publicize/banner the other SQPN shows that up to now have not been featured that way. Perhaps a rotating banner selection that highlights each newly posted podcast would be a way to ensure that all the SQPN podcasts get their share of time in the banner feature on the homepage.
~ God Bless all the SQPN programs, ~
