Someday…someone…is going to have to…explain to me Star Wars.
I can’t be the only one that’s never seen any of the movies all the way through…. Can I?
I haven’t listened to this podcast yet, but i saw the iPadre cast link. I’ve been listenin to Fr. Jay for a while and he’s AWESOME!
I can’t say, James, but I’m not in that club. I saw the original SW twice in one sitting back when it was first released in ‘77. (It used to be that you could buy a ticket and stay until the theater closed.) That was the last movie I did that with.
Glad to hear that That Catholic Show will soon be on DVD. Greg, while I understand that you can’t do multilingual versions yet, I hope you will be able to add English subtitles/captions in the first season DVD (at least in the episodes if not the added features). 28 million people in the USA (and 3 million Canadians) have hearing loss, and contrary to what we might guess, only about a third of them are over 55 years of age. I know you’re running SQPN on a shoestring — and I know you want to reach as many people as you can. I’d be glad to help you research your options in this area.
@Naomi - The biggest issue is that I’ll be producing the DVD myself, and the learning curve and time needed to add a layer of captioning to all of the videos would pretty much ensure that the DVD would not be released for another 6 months. Ideally, we’d love to do this, but it’s just not realistic at this time if we’re going to continue producing other content.
When dealing with the Lord’s calling, I’m always reminded of the Lord calling Samuel. Great lesson in God’s persistence in calling us.

“Things come in threes” is a superstition. I’ve never heard it tied directly to God in the “God will try to talk to you three times”. Honestly, pinning God to the superstition of “things come in threes” sends up major red flags for me because, it is my understanding, that the Church frowns on superstitions anyway … and now here God is being attached to one! (You might as well say “God will send a black cat to walk across your path before you pass under a ladder because He’s not happy with you.”)
