DB#392 – Saints and Heroes

In this episode: A new introduction to the show (kudos to Joe, Adam and other listeners for the inspiration); shaky videocameras and tripods; why do Catholics need saints? Is God too busy? Heroes and Battlestar Galactica; Runner’s knee, icepacks and stretches; confession and mediation.

Like that new intro, baby! Glad to have DB back.
Great intro / leader! I cannot say how much I agree to you on your Heroes review. I was very enthusiastic about the plot-idea, but was taken back while watching… But I happened to found an american site where all the episodes were posted, so I could finish the first season (and couldn’t go slower) in a few days! Hold your breath for the last episode!
The new intro is great! My only question is… what if you’re a Trekkie AND a Brown coat?
Ohh….I hope that intro isn’t permanent. It’s way too long for a podcast.
What was wrong with the old intro? It was short, sweet and to the point and got into the content quickly.
I liked your commentary on the saints. I like to think of them as “Friends in High Places”. We ask our friends to either “think of us”, “support us” or “pray for us” (all of which are basically the same thing). So, why shouldn’t we have the “those that have gone before us marked with the sign of faith” pray for us?
Keep up the good work Father…
Huh, my earlier posting didn’t stick–
A tip on icing your knee, hands free. Wrap the ice pack on with plastic cling wrap.
The intro is cool – keep it! Fr. Roderick – the Theology on Tap episode was awesome – great work! Sorry to hear SQPN is broke – lets get the next fund drive started (as you know it’s almost November). Sponsoring episodes of DB was cool
Don’t want to start a discussion here, but… change of running shoes brand, air does not provide enough support for the whole leg!
I know how much it hurts, yes other brands are more expensive, but it is worth it, start there.
I think the intro is way too long – it will be boring when you hear it for the third time.
