You made several statements that seem to have confused All Saints Day with All Souls Day. All Saints Day is Nov. 1st, and IS a Holy Day of Obligation. All Souls Days, in which we are reminded to pray for the souls in purgatory, is the next day. The name “Halloween” comes from “All Hallows Eve” because it is the vigil of All Saints Day.
Hope this clears things up.
