On Thanksgiving Day 2007, Fr. Roderick Vonhogen followed SQPN COO Greg Willits as Greg completed his first marathon in Atlanta, Georgia. This approximately 15-minute video is a compilation of the race.

Aha! Looking at the title- I guess there’ll be more to come.
The sound and video is slightly lagged, but we’re working on fixing that. The higher res version at the link above is much better.
Awesome Greg !!! Thanks to Father Roderick for bringing us the sights and sounds. You are truly blessed to have such a wonderful cheering squad. Way to to guys !!!
I am so proud of you Greg!!!
It was great to see Jennifer and the boys following their daddy. You could tell they were so excited and so proud of you too!
Our Thanksgiving was marked by how much we ate and one more slice of pie please! Running was NOT on our agenda for Thanksgiving.
I’m sure you enjoyed a great meal later and were extremely thankful for it. The blessings we all enjoy (& take for granted) are so amazing!
Lots of love to you guys!
Amy
Wow! That was so emotional. I got teary eyed! It was neat to match up the updates from Twitter and now the video. He looked so much better after the call went out for prayers for his toe.
THAT is AWESOME!!!
congratulations!
Thanks so much for posting the video for us to see. Greg you are SUCH an inspiration for us all! You truly rock!! Jennifer it was great to see you and the 2 boys cheering him on. Fr. Roderick, great camera work! With the wet grounds and running with the camera I don’t know how you did it but we do appreciate the work. God bless.

Greg:
You have my unqualified respect for succeeding in a marathon without a long pre-race training period. When you first announced your desire to accomplish this goal I was quite skeptical.
Perhaps this acknowledges that “with God all things are possible.” Keep up the good work.
Steve.
Congratulations Greg! And congratulations to your cheering squad, they did a great job.
Wow! Congratulations! I imagine that this Thanksgiving Day is none like you’ve ever had. The video was a great way for all of us to participate, albeit vicariously.
I hope you have many days of relaxation knowing that you’ve accomplished such a great feat! Way to go!
Amazing capture! Amazing pictures there, Fr. Roderick! Congratulations Greg!… and to your family and cheer squad! You’re doing such great works.
That was such an incredible video!! I’m so proud of you! I haven’t seen you for a while and you really thinned down. That was 10 time cooler than I imagined.
Many thanks to Father Roderick for capturing the run on video. It felt like I was actually there, and jogging or walking are two things this pair of legs, knees and feet needed to watch from the comfort of the computer.
Thanks to Jennifer and the boys for the commentary and shared enthusiasm.
Greg, thank you for the memory. Thanksgiving took on a whole new meaning.
Well done Greg! and thank you father Roderick and Jenifer and family for sharing this with us.
What beautiful family!
Thank you so very much.
Congratulations Greg!
WooHOOOOOO, Greg! Congratulations on your first marathon! I’m betting there will be more in your future! No water for the last 4 miles??? What was up with that? You are really tough to get through that. I think your boys are the most enthusiastic cheering team I’ve ever seen! Can I borrow them for a race someday?
Thank you so much for sharing the video with your SQPN audience!
Oh, my!!!! I felt your prayers and the prayers of your whole family. I can’t wait to hear a podcast on this excellent accomplishment of yours. God was (IS) with you!
When I was watching I related your physical pain to the spiritual pain we all go through in our lives. You gave that pain to God, as we also may cross the finish line through Heaven’s gate and be welcomed in much the same way your were welcomed by your precious wife, Jennifer (and your boys). We are truly a communion of saints. Elizabeth
Greg,
I enjoyed watching your marathon and especially the love witnessed among your family. You and your family are great!.
I put off my first marathon three years ago due to injury but am considering giving it a shot in spite of the pain after watching you. When I do run one, I will be offering my pain for Rosary Army and SQPN. Gary Hoerter
GREGO!GREGO!GREGO! FANTASTIC JOB! WOW that was wonderful. It was full of suspense..but I knew your/our prayers would get you through! THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND INSPIRATION! (Made me cry with joy!)

I am just starting to get back into running, and it is very inspirational to see someone who was in my boots, and now has FINISHED a marathon. Congrats and God Bless

Awesome video. Fr. Roderick, you did such an awesome job capturing the moments of the marathon. Watching all the support Greg was getting was so touching and watching Greg succeed throughout the whole marathon was truly inspiring.
I got teary-eyed as Greg crossed the finish line and hugged his family.
You are all truly blessed!
Congrats Greg!
Nice work from day one to this! You are so blessed with your cheering section, too. I think I will pledge $26 a month in honor of your marathon!! Any one else want to join me?
For the love of God
