  1. Thank you for this episode… It’s amazing how we bop along in life pretending all is well, when in actuality we have hurts buried so deep we convince ourselves they have healed.

I downloaded the show this morning, but wasn’t really sure I wanted to listen to it. That was kind of a red flag for me - “Hello? Kim? What’s going on in there? What’s the deal?” So, I kind of ignored the question until late in the evening, but finally listened. Turns out the wound is still pretty raw! Right or wrong you feel like your life is an irreparable mess, and right now it sure seems like that’s always gonna be the case.

It helps though to hear other people who have been through it as well. We always feel our pain is new and unique to only ourselves, but I try to remember that it’s not, and that the Lord knows what I go through, and He understands. It really touched a chord to hear the recurring mention of the healing needed to move on. So true. And Lisa said, “Don’t tell them someone else will come along…” So true! Too many people try to fix you, and they don’t have that power (unfortunately, they *can* manage to increase the pain).

Anyway, I shouldn’t be rambling on so… I appreciate your time and effort - the Lord will surely bless you and see you through. Take care…

  2. Interesting that on the very same day this divorce podcast is out that there is this news:

Divorce Found to Harm The Environment With Higher Energy, Water Use

    By Juliet Eilperin
    Washington Post Staff Writer
    Tuesday, December 4, 2007

Divorce is not just a family matter. It exacts a serious toll on the environment by boosting the energy and water consumption of those who used to live together, according to a study by two Michigan State University researchers.

The analysis found that cohabiting couples and families around the globe use resources more efficiently than households that have split up. The researchers calculated that in 2005, divorced American households used between 42 and 61 percent more resources per person than before they separated, spending 46 percent more per person on electricity and 56 percent more on water…

  3. What a great show. Lisa’s story could have been my own, I had been there too, and also made bad choices along the way. Thank you for discussing it. It is often a taboo subject among family, clergy, and not always handled sensitively.

God bless you guys and the work that you do! You are in my prayers!

  4. I wonder if y’all noticed that in this podcast you had such a full and moving picture of the difficulties of achieving God’s ideal in marriage in Vince’s and Lisa’s stories of divorce and rebuilding or Bob’s story of truly experiencing “till death do us part.” This is what Rosary Army (and also SQPN) do so very well and why I am committed to giving to both apostolates.
