  1. Hi Fr Roderick, I’m having no luck downloading this show. Nice to see you are over 60% with the giving campaign.

    God Bless

  2. Me either… iTunes seems to be having difficulty?

  3. I’m working on it.

  4. It’s downloading now. Many thanks for staying up so late to fix the problem!

    God Bless

    Frank

  5. Ok, that turned out to be more problematic than I thought. We maxed out our Libsyn account (we’ve been uploading too many shows), so we had to upgrade one of these accounts to a $20/mo subscription level to be able to post some more shows…

    The show should download now.

I hope someone will look deep into those SQPN puppy eyes and help us cover these additional costs :)

  6. I am from the southern U.S., but went to school up north. Way up north! So a friend sent me off with a bag of cold remedies, which I never needed. Not one cold in the two years I was there! So I would agree, you don’t catch colds by being out in the cold. I used to joke that the cold killed all the germs!

However, I’d love to hear some doctors chime in about the risks/benefits of strenuous exercise in very cold weather. I ask because my father dropped dead while doing his usual “power walk” outdoors in very cold weather (about 10 degrees F), and there was some talk at the time that it is dangerous to exercise in very cold weather. I’ve heard several accounts of other people dying while exercising in the bitter cold. Of course, it could be pure coincidence. So I would love to hear some expert opinion!

  7. Happy birthday, Frank from New Zealand :)
    (I think it’s your birthday, isn’t it?)

  8. I don’t like to use beanies or caps. It messes my hair for work. ear muffs are probably better.

But still, my nose is very cold. I wonder how to solve that.

  9. Fr. I have become a regular listener and viewer of your podcasts in the last couple of months. I REALLY liked the Healthy Catholic (my kids even watched it with me) I hope you will be adding more soon. I know you are incredibly busy! I don’t know how you keep up with it all but THANK YOU from Kansas!

  10. @Kurt: Maybe buy a nose muff? ;)
I usually wear a balaclava. The only risk of that is getting caught because you look like a terrorist. ;)

  11. @ Fr. Roderick
