  1. It is great that there will be a movie of the hobbit. Great news

  2. Hi Father,

I understand the need for ads – and I really do hope they bring in additional revenue for SQPN – but I find the new ad layout slightly overwhelming. Is there a way to make them, the ads, more subtle?

I like the SQPN store concept – there is something there for everyone. But how are the text-based ads doing?

I wonder if one can embed ads in a podcast (a visual ad appears on video-capable iPods, for example)?

As always, Father. God Bless and keep up the great work!

  3. Hi David. The ads do bring in additional revenue for SQPN, and both the store and the text ads generate similar amounts of revenue. Seeing that we are only at 67% of our fundraising goals, we really welcome this extra money. It looks like the combination of text ads + store revenue could pay the monthly costs of our main server (the one that hosts the website).

We are working on a redesign of the website, but making the ads more subtle might also result in less clicks, thus less revenue. We’ll do our best though.

  4. Hi Father–
What about a tipjar that stays up on your page throughout the year? There are a number of addt’l ways to increase revenue: as the old saying goes, there’s more than one way to skin a cat!

I’m loading you up for my flight from Paris to Texas tomorrow. I wish I weren’t so “religious” about daily listening, then I’d have a few more to listen to on the flight. I’ll wave hello to Austin for you, and try to bring some of that Texas sunshine back to Europe on my return; we really need it! :-)

  6. Father… what was the exact track of music that you played from the Lord of the Rings? I’d like to hear that.

    Thanks

    Thanks.
