Hooray
I was so excited when i opened iTunes and saw my usually stagnant download list updating my podcasts. Flipping to the Podcast tab i saw that there was a new SoLoTR! I’m going to listen now but i congratulate you in advance.
I was only getting into iTunes to put The Fellowship of the Ring back on my iPod so i Could watch it for the bazillionth time but this is so much better. Thank you!
Awesome.
I haven’t listened to it yet, but it looks pretty good. Thank you Fr. Roderick. God Bless you!
Great. It is impressive the quality and long research you must have done for this wonderful show.
Merry Christmass, Fr. Roderick and the whole sqpn community.
Waiting for the next one
Even better that the last one. Great show.
Also I’m very happy because you read my email in the show. Thanks and Merry Christmas from the Peruvian Tolkien Society.
Hello, Father. I’m glad to see that you put out another podcast!!
You mentioned that it takes some time to do research, and such. I was wondering if you were familiar with The Encyclopedia of Arda. I’ve found it very useful, and I thought you might find some use out of it as well.
Dear Father Roderick,
I love your lotr Podcast. And hope you do lot’s more.
Cool to hear about lotr from a catholic priest, Did not know that was posible for you to talk about these kind of books. You have my respect. I walk the path of the old religion (Druidry). I think we belief the same thing, but practice different. Hope te hear lot’s more
Tolkien also made a other book it’s called Roverandum.
Also very nice.
A dutch J.R.R Tolkien fan,
Congratulations on another fantastic episode. There are very few podcasts that can compete with this kind of quality.
Concerning the Hobbit films: CNN reports that Peter Jackson will produce but not direct them. A director has not yet been named.

Wow! Just: WOW! Once again you were able to bring the atmosphere of The Lord of the Rings right to my table, can’t wait to listen to this episode again while walking the mountains nearby. Thank you very much!
Martin B.
By the way: the WOW above is meant in the context of amazement and astonishment, not MMORPG!
Amazing show, thank you for this podcast, really enjoyed it.
English isn´t my first language also I can´t express everything I want.
Thank you (and of course there are others directors than Peter Jackson for doing a movie about The Hobbit).
Hope to hear you soon
Mae Govannen Father Roderick,
I want to thank you and congratulate you on another great podcast. I have anxiously waited for another update and hope that you get to see more from you soon. Just in case you didnt catch my name, it is pronounced “Ur-Ala-Koos”. Taken from Tolkien’s Sindarin and roughly translates as Vigerous or Firery Spirited Stormwind.
As another listener posted, the encyclopedia of Arda is a great tool for research. I love to cycle through it just picking up random bits of info.
I want to give a little insight into one of the mines you journeyed into during podcast # 5. The statue you came across was indeed a Cave Troll. It dates back to just before Thorin and company were leaving to meet with Bilbo before the book of the Hobbit. A dourhand dwarf was excavating a part of the mine (looking for acces to some Elven Ruins and artifacts that got buried during the Elf starter area) and Gimili shows up to stop him, but not before a wall collapses and the Troll is released. Gimili fights the troll and gets into trouble, Gandalf shows up and creates the crack and bathes the Troll in sunlight. This is all part of the Dwarven starter area and was great fun to do.
Thanks again for your great podcasting methods and I await your next.
You just got a great review by Lady Sinaea on the Ring Cast (ringcast.org). Check it out!
I couldn’t agree with her more. Fr. Roderick’s creativity and enthusiasm makes this show one of the most enjoyable of all diversions. “This guy” is inspiring indeed. Thanks for sharing, Rich.
WEWT! looks whos back with a new episode!!!! i was so excited to hear your making episodes again!, as long as you makem ill download them, TOTALLY LOVE THE SHOW!!!
Another great one keep it up
I heard about this show via Ringcast. I have to say that I am very impressed with it. I love the almost role play feel that you bring. I almost feel like I am walking along with you on your journey. I was wondering if you could share which server you play on and what level your character is.
I LOVE YOUR PODCASTS!! the way you describe the world of tolkien is AMAZING! i cant wait untill the next episode. your podcast are amazing again thanks for making them bye!
I realy enjoy your podcasts, and I love the descriptions of everything! Its just like the book. I as well as everyone else look forward to the next podcast. And I hope that you can describe where the other races (Men, Hobbits, ect.) came from. Thanks for listening, John.
Well, I just started watching your podcasts today, (yes I am that slow) I’m an active reader of Tolkien stories, (even read the occasional excert), attend a Christ reformed church, and play LOTRO actively. I find your podcasts very informative and love the links you make to Christianity. I was wondering if I could place a sugguestion for a topic? Feared terrors in middle earth, i.e., Rogmuls (creatures of dark fire), fellbeasts, trolls etc…A book by C.S. Lewis points out through the book Screwtape letters that understanding how the enemy works is part of resisting them. There is not much information on these creatures, I would be willing to lend you my account to complete some of the more complicated parts of the games…please respond back. My kin on the server Arkenstone would be more than willing to take you through the fights in the new regions. Thanks!
P.S. All interested in the game LOTRO can visit the guild site http://www.thelasthopehome.com for more info on the kin on arkenstone, the game, and the books!
Fr. Roderick,
As one of your usual listeners, I am almost desperate waiting for a new show :-). I think John’s idea of where the remaining races come from can be a great topic for a new podcast. Thanks in advance!
i wasthinking you could do a show about the guy that is half bear half man that gives bilbo and the dwarves horses to the forest of whatchya call it
I really appreciate the LoTRO podcast, secrets of middle earth.
Keep up the good work!
please make a new podcast soon!!!
