Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
December 31, 2007 was a historic day that I will always remember. SQPN podcasters in different parts of the world joined forces during an unprecedented 19 hour long Podcast Marathon that was broadcasted via a live videostream on uStream.tv.
Thousands of people watched the live feed throughout the day. Sometimes over 600 people were watching the stream simultaneously!
The Podcast Marathon marked the final day of the SQPN 2008 Giving Campaign, that started on the feast of All Saints on November 1. The SQPN Giving Campaign tried to raise the amount of money needed to continue and expand the Catholic new-media apostolate of the Star Quest Production Network.
At the start of the Podcast Marathon, listeners, viewers and supporters had brought together 91% of the necessary funds. During the day, SQPN raised over $14,000 USD, succesfully reaching our fundraising goal.
In total, the SQPN 2008 Giving Campaign raised more than $150,000 USD, which enables us to continue our worldwide mission of evangelization, education, entertainment and outreach in the world of new media!
On behalf of all the people at SQPN, and from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who has donated or supported us by their prayers. Your generosity shows us how much you value what we do, and how much you are involved in this extraordinary mission in today’s world.
SQPN has touched and changed the life of countless people all over the world. With God’s grace, and thanks to your help, we will be able to continue to do this in 2008.
Thank you for making this possible.
Fr. Roderick

Thank YOU, Father and everyone else at SQPN for helping us in our journey towards God.
Congrats! What an incredible job you guys did. We wish the best to SQPN in 2008!

It was a wonderful day for those of us who feel a connection to the SQPN family, and it was a great example of how being a Christian is a dawn to dusk, live-it-every-day thing. Ya’ll done good. Thanks.
I agree with Marnie.
I wonder if the day will come in 2008 where I can say “My iPod made me Catholic”.
Keep up the good work, guys.
What an exciting day and a great way to start the New Year! Y’all kept me glued to my computer all day, and I could hardly sleep after the party was over. Thank you all for sharing the celebration with us in such a unique and personal way. I can’t wait to see what 2008 has in store for the SQPN/RA family!
It was great to see the podcasters in their family settings, unfiltered, just purely themselves. It added so much character to the more polished images we usually get. It was great to see people and it would be great if we could meet the other podcasters in a similar way. There are so many SQPN shows out there now, and I hardly know what they are about. It would be great to see all the personalities.
Thanks to all the team members, podcasters and their families that made this possible, especially, of course, Father Roderick. It was truly a marathon effort on his part.
I wish to thank those that share all or part of the day with us all and really appreciated the sense of family that grew in the chat on ustream. I already miss that and wonder if we couldn’t benefit from forums and regular interactive chat opportunities … of course that could raise the need for even more funds in 2009 but I have a feeling that as the apostolate grows that our Holy Father in Heaven will provide what is needed.
For those that I met and do not know how to contact again know that you will stay in my daily prayers and have a warm spot in my heart.

Hurray for happy puppies and hurray for SQPN!! I don’t know what I’d do without these podcasts in my life. I’m constantly quoting from them or telling other Catholic or seeking folks that they need to visit and download them. Thanks to Father Roderick and all the SQPN podcasters, and many blessings for the year ahead.
I am so happy no puppies were injured in the production of this fundraising campaign. Hurray!
Man tears yet again. In the words of Tiny Tim “God bless us everyone”. Really seems to say it all.
Woohoo! Thanks for all you do. I’m looking forward to another great year of SQPN
Awesome, awesome, awwesome! Thank YOU, Fr Roderick - the SQPNetwork has meant more to me than I’ll ever be able to describe. Wish I could have given more, but thankfully all the puppies (and kitties) were taken care of!

@ Taq - Ditto!
Hi, Fr., I am SO happy SQPN reached their goal and am so grateful, too. Thinking ahead, I thought of an idea to help raise more money for SQPN. Since so many people enjoy your singing, what about making and selling an “informal” CD-you could include the clip where you chanted the martryology(sp.?)on Christmas Eve, the part where you sang Salve Regina on New Year’s Eve and some other times where you sing. I know you have high standards but it wouldn’t have to be a “perfect” studio CD, I think many of us would enjoy it “as is”. If there was a way the price could be not too high (say <$15.00 USD)it would be a plus. I have no idea how much stuff like this costs to make and I know you are so busy, but if it is feasible it might be a cool thing for SQPN listeners….
Best regards,
Bonita
I listen to the SQPN podcasts on the train going to school each day before I start my work on my PhD. Thanks Fr. Roderick for a great 2007 for SQPN, I don’t know how you find the time to do this while being a priest, but God has truly given you the gift for what you do. May God bless you, the other SQPN podcasters, and SQPN listeners for a prosperous and blessed 2008!
