I had no idea how many different versions of puff pancakes are out there! Here is the Wikipedia write up on Aebleskiver. With a picture of the pan. Now who’s going to make their version of puff pancakes this weekend?

I saw the Star Trek trailer when we went to see Cloverfield last Friday evening. It was so cool. I went to see the trailer just as much as to see the movie. As for Cloverfield, I admired the way that they told the story entirely with shots done as though someone was using a hand held video recorder. Having said that, I warn you that the very unsteady camera work can make you feel sick to the stomach. There were a lot of nauseous people leaving the theater - not because of anything gross in the movie, but because of the camera movement. The only other time that I’ve felt like that was when I was in an airplane that landed just before the airport was closed due to a hurricane. As we approached the airport for the landing we went up and down repeatedly as we were buffeted by the wind. Watching the movie was like that, only worse, and it kind of sneaks up on you as the cumulative effect of watching the jerky camera movement catches up with you. So my advice about Cloverfield is this - definitely pay attention to the PG-13 rating and don’t let a younger child see it and don’t eat anything right before or during the movie.
Aebleskiver pans have wells in them that look like half a sphere - like you cut a ball in half.
Liquid dough = batter. i.e. cake batter, brownie batter, muffin batter, pancake batter, etc…
batter = (noun) mixture of flour, milk or water, eggs, etc., beaten together for use in cookery.
Another thought of the day:
I doubt if anyone of any tenderness or imagination can see the hand of a child and not be a little frightened of it. It is awful to think of the essential human energy moving so tiny a thing; it is like imagining that human nature could live in the wing of a butterfly or the leaf of a tree. When we look upon lives so human and yet so small…we feel the same kind of obligation to these creatures that [God] might feel.
- G K Chesterton, 1903
Hi, Fr.,
Take care!
I think the word you were searching for is “batter”-as in cake batter, etc.. (not to be confused with “batter” as in baseball, “batter up!” ….)

5 FACTS ON THE NEW STAR TREK MOVIE:

However the movie will not be out until Christmas so you will have a long wait for it.
I’m sure it will be magnitudes better than the super shaky big monster horror bad teen movie Cloverfield.
By the way, the voice on the new Star Trek movie teaser trailer is none other than Leonard Nimoy.

Have fun.
I think Ĺ“bleskiver (hope I’ve spelled it right) taste a bit like something in between a ‘poffertje’ and a ‘oliebol’, although there is some apple in it instead of dried grapes…
Fr. the “like dough, but a liquid” is “Batter”.
