I passed your site on to a ‘younger’ friend in Toronto: his response: “Hey, hey, hey, Roderick’s stuff is interesting. It’s a good site to introduce christianity to young people nowadays (oh, my, g, i can’t believe i’m saying “young people”!!). It’s a mainstream approach; it’s hip, interactive and fun. What i enjoy most about the site is that it showcases the talents of the religious: Technopriest and Fr. Geek. Oh, yes, i also like how the site is not littered with prayers and novenas. Novenas such as a novena for longer, thicker hair, a novena to find a lost sock, a novena to find the strength to wash the dishes … On the downside, and maybe it’s just me, the site feels a bit cultish, what do you think?”

wow – you got quintessential canada: winnipeg, which the rest of us mockingly (but affectionately) refer to as ‘winterpeg’, plus hockey. Yup, we’re pretty crazy about hockey here. Glad you went to the game.

Next time you visit, Vancouver’s a ‘must’ – an entirely different part of Canada altogether, and warm! Very into environmentalism and technology.

I personally grew up in Yellowknife – check it out on the map; it’s in the very high north. Clean air, pure water, and northern lights.

Warm my heart, Father Roderick, it’s a new Catholic Insider! My favorite listening from you – and in Canada no less.

Family went to Georgian Bay two summers ago. Kids that my son befriended on the beach said “Oh, have to leave now to go play hockey. Yeah, we play year round at inside hockey rinks.” Incredible the love for hockey in Canada.

There are no patron saints specific to ice hockey. However, Saint Sebastian has a tradition of patronage of all athletes.
