Secrets of Lost - The Fountain of Youth

Fr. Roderick shares his theory on an ancient legend that could hold the key to solving the mystery of Lost. This recording was originally sent to Cliff and Stephanie’s Weekly Lost Podcast.
Don’t listen if you haven’t seen the series up until episode 3 of season 4!!
This theory will likely need a lot of correction when new information becomes available in future episodes of Lost

Wow, cool, thanks Father. Is this going to be recurring?
Lost Theories…
Fr. Roderick posted a very interesting theory over at the SQPN website called The Fountain Of Youth. Sounds very good, and might be pretty close to what is happening on the island. It would also explani why the six that went back want to protect the fo…
Wow… now THAT is an awesome, well thought out theory! I’m surprised there are only 2 comments here.
Wow, what a surprise…. Secrets of Lost ! Fantastic !
Many thanks father, and please, pleeeeaaaase make “Secrets of Lost” a regular podcast.
Keep up the great work.
Mike
…I was just loughing out loud when i was listening to the GSPN Podcast.
Cliff Ravenscraft: “Jorge Garcia is great, but…this is somebody that I am personally a little bit more excited getting feedback from than Jorge Garcia - …Father Roderick !
Isn’t that great stuff ;-))
I agree with most of what Father is saying here. I agree there are time discrepencies between the Island and the outside world. However, I do not think they are as drastic as presented in this theory.
One example to support this is that Jack sees Sarah (his ex-wife) in his flashforward (which takes place AFTER Hurley’s) and she looks like she hasn’t aged at all.
However, I thoroughly enjoyed your musings, Father, and I hope to hear more as this season unfolds!
Until next time…
Namaste.

Father Roderick,
Thank you so much for this awesome feedback. You are welcome to record feedback for our show ANY TIME!
Catching up on the past few days of Daily Breakfast now!

It was very interesting to hear all the comments on the theory; I missed a quite a few elements in the show that could contradict some parts of my original theory, so I might have to rework it a bit.
Perhaps the time difference between the Island and the outside world is less considerable than I thought, so that’s how some people don’t look that different in the flash forwards.
And one thing I didn’t make clear enough was that I do think that the people on the Island are getting older (except for the original habitants of the island). It’s just that the outside world ages much faster.
I’ll pose another theory.
Ben is the devil. And he strikes deals with people. A few times he has asked “Do we have a deal?”
Be careful if you hear that.
Just like all of us that have to carry our cross (bear our burdens), the people on the island have the capacity for good and evil.
I think people on the island are fighting their demons. Some will be successful, some will not. While they are fighting their demons they are in a kind of purgatory.
It seems like the seven deadly sins may be part of the story line.
Hurley seems to overcome “gluttony” when he is no longer interested in the food.
Locke seems to be struggling with power issues.
My hunch is also what are your motives when you commit sins / crimes. Do you do the wrong things for the right reasons, or the right things for the wrong reasons?
Penny’s father purchased sacramental wine from an Abbey. I actually think he may be one of the good guys willing to take on the devil directly. The satellite phones receive messages from the sky (heaven?).
Penny’s father challenging Desmond to not be a coward may be because he knows what Desmond is up against.
Desmond has twice fought with challenges below ground (the devil’s territory).
As far as pregnancy…the miracle of birth is a blessing from God. The devil would not be able to match the creation of life that only God can bring forth.
I’m looking forward to tonight’s episode.
And this theory is subject to change depending on what happens tonight.

One more comment…in God’s time…a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day.
This is amazing!! I hope u do a whole podcast series about Lost!
I just watched the repeat broadcast of the “Confirmed Dead” episode.
Crazy writing. Where are they going with this story.
They introduced a helicopter pilot linked to Herman Minkowski.
They introduced an anthropologist linked to C.S. Lewis.
They introduced a physicist named Faraday.
They introduced a ghost buster that prayed over a women killed by Locke that doesn’t want us to know his last name.
And they introduced a project lead named Abbadon.
Nothing simple or straight forward in this mix.
It’s fantastic! LOL
Here are two more theories…
1. Lost has to do with the lost tribe of Israel.
2. Lost has to do with lost souls.
the new lost season is now ending were i live and it just started on season 4 maybe im wrong. i like the podcast but there not the best. that is only my oppion. to me they should speed up what there point is and anwser some quesiton. not make more.
