  1. I vote for the “sound of Music” jingle

    Bob

  2. Im a fan of the chant

  3. Being a member of a parish that celebrates Mass in the Traditional Roman Rite in Sacramento, I’ve got to go with the Gregorian chant.

  4. Gregorian all the way.

  5. Where are we supposed to vote? Are the various entries listed somewhere? I think I would vote for the Gregorian chant.

  6. I just used Babelfish to “translate” your Dutch blog. Very interesting content, very bizarre translation in places!

  7. I love the “Lost” parody but I don’t think the numbers are as memorable that way so I vote for the chant Gregorian chant.

  8. I’m going to have to go with the Handel ;)

  9. I enjoyed participating in the jingle contest and was bummed that my entry didn’t make the semi-finals cut. Of course, you didn’t say we couldn’t have a write-in candidacy, so - here’s my vote for me! (My jingle was the Kleztmer style song played on DB #428). Also, I have to make a small complaint that the chant jingle is really your entry. I think that’s a teensy bit unfair since you’re also the judge! Finally, it would be helpful if you gave us some voting guidelines. Are we voting for what we’d want to hear at the end of every show? Are we voting for the most funny? The most original?
Thanks for all you do. God Bless SQPN.

  10. I like the chant.

  11. Hi Fr. Roderick, Darlene in PEI Canada here, I think the jingle contest was so great…it alone made me remember the #… listening to all the people and their great ideas WOW! I think the Gregorian Chant would be best for your show…all thought there were others that were better the Chant in your voice is best to represent your show…And as for the last comment saying that its not fair that it was you doing the chant well the caller who had the idea is really the one who would receieve the prize for coming up with the idea! Just my 2 cents. Thanks again for a great show and All the great info on Lent! Keep on Podcasting, and God bless

  12. 1) I like your chant the best.
    2) reconciliation - I am in a situation that all efforts of reconciliation are ignored and rejected by the “friends” with which I have had a conflict. What’s the next step ?

  13. If you won’t use the chant, you have to go with Benjamin.

  14. Angela, your jingle is among the finalists.. it’s number 6. Did I forget to replay it this week? If so, my mistake!

The chant jingle is about the idea. And I’m not the judge, it’s the listeners that decide…

  15. I vote for the chant jingle!

  16. I vote for the chant.

  17. MY VOTE: The Chant (as in the idea sent in by Kim)-(I think it’s the most uniquely tied in to the show, succint, neat sounding, etc..).
However, I do think that Pam deserves something for coming up with the LOST/numbers jingle-it was truly innovative!
Btw, my jingle didn’t make it to the finals either but that’s quite okay as it was fun coming up with it and I was just tickled pink it got played at all! :-) Have a good weekend everyone!
    Bonita

  18. Where do we find the show notes? Oh, and I vote for the chant. God Bless.

  19. It’s really hard to pick just one phone jingle as a winner. I have a suggestion. How about having a different jingle to go with the different liturgical seasons? My suggestions are the Handel one for the Easter season, the Favorite Things one for the Advent season, 206 20 chill for Ordinary time and the Gregorian Chant for the Lenten season?

  20. Agree with Barb!

  21. Vader,

Love uw nieuwe site, maar ik heb niet begrepen dat een van, want het is in het Nederlands. Dus, ik gebruikt de Google Translation Tool, en nu kan ik lezen! Check it out: http://tinyurl.com/29kppm

    Cheers!

  22. Chant or Handel.

  23. Chant!!

  24. I vote for the Handel as well~ But chant for the Lent is a cool idea indeed!

  25. Thanks for all you do, Fr. Roderick!

I like best by far the “Gregorian Chant jingle.”

    Thanks.

  26. @ Capt. Jeff

That is a really cool tool, it always cracks me up how those translation tools interpret things

  27. If I have to vote for one, it would be
Chant. I do like the idea of having one for every liturgical season though.

    Janet

P.S. Where is the blog that you talk about? I have never found it and sure would like to. Keep up the good work!

  28. Handel and Chant. Two very good jingles.

  29. Funny that you should talk about lowering your living costs. At the start of March I made my absolutly first New Year resolution in my life. I know, three months too late! :D

Anyway, the resolution is: I will lower my expenses by 10% per month before the end of this year. I have already started cutting back on things I don’t really need. Magazines I never read, support to organizations I actually don’t care about and lowering my heat in the apartment (saves the environment too!). So far I have managed to lower my living cost 3%, but then I haven’t yet seen the results on the heat lowering.

I wish you luck in your endeavor!
