Fr. Roderick,
There is a great update to Vista, it is called Windows XP - check it out.
I stopped using Vista and in fact now just run XP on my iMac via VMWare Fusion. VMWare is great virtualization software and ironically as a Windows developer I am using Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 via VMWare on my iMac and it runs very well and just as fast as my one year old windows PC. I wouldn’t be surprised if castblaser would run via VMWare.
I’m running Vista on my laptop at home and XP on my office PC. I must say that XP is definitely more stable. I’ve just updated my Vista to SP1, not without some struggle, mostly because my own carelessness (I disabled some of the services needed to install SP1). Apparently, this service pack is suppose to improve the security and performance of this clumsy OS, but I really cannot feel much of a difference. My colleague who has also just updated to SP1 expresses the same feeling. SP1 is also known to “kill” many applications, which I guess is a common process whenever “big-brother” Microsoft comes up with a patch.
Let’s just say, if one has a choice between XP and Vista, the former is definitely the better option. BTW, SP3 for XP is due to be released this year. Hopefully it’ll make XP an even better OS, without causing too much damage to third-party software. :p
Whoopee! Javier Bardem won! Gotta love a guy that thanks his mother in public!
I *highly* recommend the Coen brothers’ first movie “Blood Simple” if you haven’t seen. I find it almost hypnotic.
Thank you so MUCH Farther for your help on “Prayer for beginners” I know it will not be easy, but I know it is what I need to do. Will you please consider doing more, or make it a part of your podcast? Thank you again for all your podcasts, may God bless you and give you His graces.
Frank
Interesting that The Golden Compass won the 2008 Academy Award for Special Effects.
It did do some groundbreaking innovative unique work in that area.
By the way its latest world wide box office total is $331, 000, 000(rounded off) with USA domestic of that at $70 million(rounded off).

OK, we get it - Vista doesn’t work for you. Enough with the Vista bashing. As for me, I’ve had no compatibility issues or system crashes with Vista. Let’s move on. Otherwise, great show!
@Jeff - thanks for the tip on VMWare Fusion. I love running XP on our Mac! The install was super simple, and I’m able to run an important health management program that we could no longer run on our PC laptop when we (inadvertently) switched to Vista. I love the SQPN community!!! Thanks Fr. Roderick, Greg, and all the people behind the scenes at SQPN.
