Fr. Roderick,
As a major U2 fan since their album October in the early eighties I would certainly testify to the very Christian underpinnings of their lyrics. October was probably their most explicitly Christian album, though many of the their albums do contain lyrics in this manner. His Father was Catholic and Mother was Protestant; though it seems that he is a non-denominational Protestant.
There is a great picture of Bono meeting Pope John Paul II and the Pope putting on Bono’s sunglasses.

Bono also called our late and great Pope the first “Funky Pontiff”
Fr. Roderick,
I guess that feedback was kind of scratchy. Next time I’ll have to just use a regular phone.
Thanks,

Father, I think you’ve changed the stars in your new logo to circles… Please don’t be afraid of trademark infringement issues - according to http://www.csr-asia.com/index.php?id=7959 Starbucks has lost some recent trademark disputes with another company. They used a logo similar to the Starbucks one. My personal humble opinion is that your logo looks better with the stars (as it still appears on Cpt. Jeff’s site) because it’s an indirect reference from DB to the STARquestPN network.
btw. I like the idea of using liturgical colors.
Maybe crosses (or crucifixes) instead of stars or circles? Just a thought!
@Matthias: I’d rather be safe than sorry, hence the recent modifications. I want to exclude any confusion, even if it makes the logo a bit less attractive. I tried crosses instead of stars, but that didn’t look right.
I also like all the new colors in the newest logo.
The design now definitely looks original and quite unsimilar from the burnt coffee shop.
I think that stars could be used in another version but I would suggest something like the astronomy ones more related to a sun which is what a star really is. Or maybe the generic little simple logos for podcast and videocast replacing the circles.
Well done Fr. Roderick!
Hello Father Roderick
Three of the four members of U2 are evangelical Christians - Adam Clayton is apparently not a practicing Christian. However, I believe that U2 have never let their Christian denomination separate them from Catholics. Jeff Miller mentioned Bono’s meeting with Pope John Paul II, and the late pope’s Jubilee mission of debt forgiveness was apparently an influence on Bono getting involved with the same. Regardless of their denomination, U2 have for a long time spoken out for the least of our brothers in a truly Christian way.
Fr. Roderick,
Regarding Silicon Valley programmer types being involved with neo-paganism and mysticism, don’t believe what that sociologist on the TV series you are involved in was telling you.
I am an American project manager that has dealt with programmers in three Fortune 500 companies as well as a couple of start ups.
While I never took a survey, I think it is a safe bet that the rate of church attendance for programmers is on par with the rest of American society.
Keep up the great work!
Best wishes,
Dave
