  1. I’m not able to download the latest Verbum Domini readings. I see a lot of posts from March 21 in my iTunes list, but the will not download. I followed the link to the libsyn page, and still they won’t download. Thanks.

  2. Is there a problem with the download of Verbum Domini? I haven’t been able to get the episodes from tomorrow until the 19th of April. The appear on iTunes, but the don’t download when I put Get. It says I need authorization, but it is only with this podcast… No problems with the Daily Breakfast.

  3. I’m having the same problem. Error message says “Authorization is needed to access ‘http://media.libsyn.com/media/verbum/verbum41908.mp3″. The last file I was able to access was the file for 3-26.

  4. We exceeded our space on the server, so Libsyn stopped serving the files. We’ve deleted some old files, the readings should download without any problem now.

  5. Thanks! I was able to download all the episodes.

    Janet

  6. Me too! Thanks a million!

  7. itunes will not download any of the current files!

  8. I think there’s something wrong with the RSS feed, we’re working on it.

  9. I still can’t download any files through ipodder

  10. Hi Jim –

Try unsubscribing and then resubscribing and see if that fixes the problem.

  11. Nope–no luck. I do notice that every episode is named media.libsyn.com/media/default.

An example of a successful download is shown below.
    http://media.libsyn.com/media/verbum/verbum032208.mp3

My last successful download was on Mar 25.

  12. Nothing on iTunes since I sw two episodes last Friday (well, entitled Firday, but actualy for the 18th and 19th – one each).

I tried unsubscribing via iTunes and resubscribing. I tried subscribing in iTunes via the RSS feed. I also tried subscribing using a Plain Old RSS Reader.

Digging a little further, the feed being served by feed burner has a build date of 2008-April-21.

It looks like your RSS is not getting updated.

I’d fix it if I could.

    Thank you!

  14. I love the podcast of your daily scriptures so much. I can listen to the Word of God wherever I go. God bless all your works and hope this will go on forever.

  15. I’m listening to your podcast as work at home before bed or whenever I need a lift. As a Sunday church goer most of my life I was amazed how much of the word through the daily scriptures I ‘wasn’t’ hearing on Sunday. I listen to them again and again until the next batch arrives and I am refreshed. Thank you so much for all of your efforts! From Brian on down thank you all! It has been such a blessing of richness in my life.

The SaintCast too :-) Never forget the SaintCast!

  16. A small suggestion for the podcast… Could you put the Scripture references for the readings in the description for each episode?

  17. I’m leaving for Sydney, Australia for World Youth Day very early in the morning on July 13 & I was wondering if the daily readings for July 13-22 will be available for download before then. I’d love to be able to put them on my iPod to have handy while I’m away. Thanks for all the hard work the Verbum Domini team puts into this wonderful podcast!!

  18. Father Roderick,

Is there anything I can do to help? I see that there haven’t been any readings since 8/7/2008. Fortunately the readings are read ahead of time but I really miss my daily scripture readings. Thank you so much for all you do to help us on our journey to knowing God more intimately.

  19. Yes, is the problem with the technical aspect of uploading files, or with the recording? I know SQPN is going through some shifts now. Please tell us how we can help!

  20. the readings are still being posted

  21. The most current readings showing there are this past Saturday’s (8/16).

  22. Just another troubleshooting tip — the links in the newsletter generate an error message.,,,

  23. is the error just a 404 message, or something else?

  24. My fault. Too many pans in the fire at once. This week’s readings are now online. Sorry, folks.

  25. I keep getting an error message in iTunes for the latest readings about needing authorization?

  26. In my iTunes, it’s all better now. Thank you!

  27. Oh we too are a greedy nation. As I re-listen to last week’s readings I’m wondering already what became of this week’s. Here in Osaka I’ve really become dependent on your daily scripture readings. This month marks the first time in the three years that I’ve been listening that the readings have been delayed. I don’t have a very good reading voice, or access to a listing of which scriptures to ready. But I find a need to help somehow. Is there anything we, your faithful listeners, (greedy though we may be) can do to help?

    God Bless,

  28. Rob, if you have the SQPN newsletter, the links in it will work…

  29. @Rob,
Cool! If you go to the link up able in the comments, you can hear this week’s readings. Don’t know whether you can download onto a portable device.

  30. up ABOVE sheesh!

  31. Here’s the error I’m seeing for the latest readings…

  32. Okay the xml file went nuts there, but at least you got the first part of the error message.

  33. Have you ever thought of recording daily readings for Monday thru Sunday instead of Sunday thru Saturday? To catch up, have somebody do one week of Sunday thru Sunday, then Monday thru Sunday after that.

I noticed that frequently the podcast is not updated until late Saturday or sometime on Sunday.

I would love to be able to access the upcoming Sunday’s reading, maybe on Wednesday, to prep for next Sunday’s mass.

    Thanks!

  34. Hey all, I SO appreciate how early the new weeks have been going up. The most recent feed seems to have some bad code though: iTunes can “see” it but I get an error trying to download them.

  35. I concur with Naomi. I’ve tried to download 2/22 – 2/28 several times in the last few days with no success. I also appreciate the early uploads by the way. I listen to them again and again when I have a few moments alone. Talk shows are great, but for me nothing says it better than the scriptures themselves.

    God Bless and Godspeed!

  36. I am also having the same issue. iTunes says files from 2/22 – 2/28 are corrupted.

    God Bless

  37. Good Morning, (Osaka time)
Recently I started using ‘Bible Reader’ on my iphone and
found that I can listen to verbum Domini while reading the scriptures.
Quick question, which version of the bible are the readings coming from?
Also, a quick, (if selfish?) request. Can you mention the verse numbers along
with the name of the book? Maybe that’s been discussed already.

    Thank you.

  38. Why isn’t Verbum Domini listed in the drop-down menus?

  39. @Ciaran, I don’t know why. PrayStation Portable isn’t either. I think the site has become so large (good thing!) that it’s hard to mintain (bad thing)

  40. I really wish this podcast were better supported. I guess it’s not as fun and flashy as the Secrets of podcasts, and doesn’t maybe bring in new people and so is not a priority.

  41. This is great.Thank you so much! more power.God bless

  42. Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for offering this podcast. I’m studying abroad in China, and daily Mass is offered in the local dialect, Minnanhua, which I speak even less than Mandarin . . . I haven’t been to daily Mass in two months now but I’m glad that I’m able to keep up with the readings through this podcast every night. Thanks again! God bless,

    ~ Maria
