About the Author

Joe McClane

I grew up in the Church of Christ but fell away and became agnostic in my teens. I joined the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil of 1999 and was married, to my lovely wife Michelle, in the Church in 2000. My real conversion took place on a spring day in 2002 when I got on my knees and "let go and let God". My journey went into hyper drive at that point and I have been in love with my Catholic faith ever since. My wife and I have three children on earth and three children in heaven. We are devout practicing Catholics who are excited to share the treasure we "found in a field" with the whole world. I work full time for a Catholic, non-profit, evangelization ministry in Houston TX called Fullness of Truth.

  1. HI Joe,

This is my first time listening to The Catholic Hack, and was excited to hear you were in the Woodlands, my family lives down in Clear Lake (I’m up at UT). Great show, and I will be a regular listener!

  3. I laughed when you mentioned that in Scott Hahn’s audio set, he is “preaching more than teaching.” That is one of the reasons I love Dr. Hahn, Tim Staples, and Marcus Grodi… you can tell that they used to be PREACHERS and in many ways still are. By Catholic standards, they can be a little long-winded, but to this ex-evangelical, it’s a touch of home. :)

  4. Does Jesus quote from the 7 omitted books (Apocryphal) of the Bible??? I don’t think I heard the answer.

    Love the Podcast Joe

  5. Hi James,

Thanks for listening and GO SOX! To answer your question, yes Jesus did quote from the Apocrypha… check out http://www.scripturecatholic.com/deuterocanon.html for list of the references to these books in the New Testament.
