Hi Greg,

Central Europe gets very strong storms too - they are just not called Tornados.

I was visiting Bavaria (most southern state in Germany) just last month. The day we were scheduled to fly back we had a really bad winter storm: Up to 200 km/h (130 mph), torrential rain, hail, snow and ice on the highways. Many highways were closed, lots of trees and cranes flipped over. Unfortunately several people also died in Germany and surrounding countries.

Fortunately I made is safely to the Munich airport with my family and we could fly home to California (with a few hours delay though).
