   God bless you! What a delight to see scenes from my old home town. I am now a resident of Lexington, Kentucky but will never consider it home.

   My brother, Jeffrey Varilla, is a world-renowned painter and sculptor who just happens to speak a bit of German. Though he has fulfilled many commissions for “Mother Church” he has yet to approach Vatican City to discuss Papal projects. His Chicago studio, based on the Renaissance guild system, pays homage to the Old Masters.

   I am hoping the visit of our beloved Benedict XVI will inspire my brother to travel to D.C. or NYC and, eventually, back to Rome.

   May Chicago give our Pope the loving welcome he deserves! Thank you for extending a warm greeting on behalf of all Chicagoans.

   Habemus Papum!
