Pope Benedict’s English is impressive?

The up and down glances suggest a tele-prompter may have been helpful if he is willing to try it. The up and down glances harken back to the Kennedy Nixon television debate videos where Kennedy got credit for talking directly to one camera and Nixon got labeled as shifty because he wasn’t sure where to look. Still, the Pope did a much better job presenting a message in English than I could achieve delivering a message in German, Latin, or Italian.

Overall, it’s a great start to the visit for Pope Benedict. A great message and I’m looking forward to hearing more from the visit.

Thanks a million for the video. Long live the Pope and may God be always with him and may God always guide him to be the torch of light in this dark 21st century.

I wish the Pope could also visit my native country, Burma!
