  2. hey Father — in the US the grocery stores put the fresh food on the parameter and the processed food in the center of the store. So I just walk the parameter and I avoid the junk.

  3. Father R,

Don’t think facebook fatigue it’s a matter of being too old. Seems more a function of facebook being too busy and intrusive for people with jobs and obligations.

  4. Thanks for the review of Facebook. I signed up but haven’t gotten back to it so now I don’t have to bother! Peace.

  5. The Wonderworks/BBC Chronicles of Narnia are the best. They are a little hoaky, but the acting is pretty good. Definitely a classic of my youth.

    James Cameron Supercharges 3-D
‘Avatar’ helmer reveals the art & science of stereo

    By DAVID S. COHEN, April 10, 2008

Director James Cameron’s upcoming “Avatar” must rank
as one of the most anticipated film projects in recent
memory. His first narrative film since making the No.
1 box office hit of all time, 1997’s “Titanic,”
“Avatar” will be the realization of Cameron’s
long-held dream of melding digital 3-D stereo with
epic bigscreen storytelling. Variety’s David S. Cohen
conducted this email interview with Cameron; it is the
director’s most extensive exploration of 3-D to date,
however he is keeping specifics about “Avatar” under
    wraps…

Story with James Cameron continues here:

    Lower-Budget Titles Try On 3-D
Britian’s ‘Mortician’ among growing digital pack

By DAVID S. COHEN, ARCHIE THOMAS, April 3, 2008

    3-D is moving downmarket.

While in the 1950s 3-D was often associated with genre
pics and B-movies like “The Creature From the Black
Lagoon,” the current generation of digital 3-D
features mostly has been limited to big-budget CGI
toons and live action pics such as Warner’s upcoming
    “Journey 3-D.”

Last week, though, came the announcement that British
thriller “The Mortician” is slated to be shot and
exhibited in 3-D. That makes it the second low-budget
thriller among the still limited number of 3-D
projects, joining Hyde Park Films’ “Dark Country,”
slated for release later this year.

For 3-D evangelists, this is both good news and bad.

Good news: There is growing acceptance of the digital
    3-D format.

Bad news: The arrival of low-budget 3-D indies could
undermine efforts to position 3-D as a premium format
that can command higher ticket prices:

  7. Prince caspian was the first one I read believe it or not, and I also watched the Wonderworks/BBC Chronicles of Narnia when I was I think 9, and even then I think they were old, Im 14 now.

  8. I loved the Wonderworks Narnia films as a kid. I have them on video (I taped them off TV years ago) and I still watch them sometimes.

I can’t wait for the new Prince Caspian movie!

  9. Hello Father

  10. Fiery creature in Moria = Balrog ;)

  11. Hi Father,

Never became part of Facebook because I had read about the fatigue factor you mentioned. Agree wholeheartedly with your “opt-in” view.

  12. Fr., did you change the feed? What I mean is, I looked for Daily Breakfast by checking the podcasts on my list that start with ‘D’ as I usually do and couldn’t find it. So I re-subscribed while being very puzzled, then I noticed it way down with the “s’s” listed as SQPN>Daily Breakfast with Father Roderick. I was confused, but glad I (re)found you!

  13. As for the whole facebook thing, there are ways to block applications, and privacy preferences to make sure that you aren’t seen by the multitudes. However, that being said, it is completely annoying to have to spend that kind of time taking all those percautions. I only use facebook when I want to procrastinate from doing meaningful work, vs. for fun anymore.

  14. Hi father.. Im impress u can tolk and run!! Im from Latin America (Guatemala) and is exelent idea can do a SQPN spanish!!
