The smiling photos on the slide show do add an excellent personal touch and seem to invite people to stop by and give a listen.

And I agree the brighter colors help brighten the mood if we check in at SQPN for inspiration after hearing about tough news like Myanmar.

Here’s a couple thoughts for some possible minor refinements.

On the slide show, when you click on the photo/banner, it takes you to the current episode. Would it be better to take people to the list of the last 10 episodes?

On the slide show, Greg and Jennifer have a one sentence explanation of what the show is about. This could be helpful for new visitors to SQPN for all shows. This would probable mean that Father Roderick would need to have two slides 1) Catholic Insider; 2) Breakfast with Father Roderick. I think the slides are scrolling through at a great speed to look and let it register before the next slide comes through.

Some episodes have fantastic cover photos that generate curiosity and make us want to explore the episode. For example, Catholic Family 88, IPadre 107 and 104. And the ceiling photo from the Church in Rome. Can the cover photos with the current episode be easily interspersed with the personal inviting photos in the slide show.

When I clicked on Father Jays photo, I scrolled down and saw the last 8 episodes. The “next page” link was not so noticeable and could be easily missed.

All things considered though, the team effort from SQPN is great to see from a listener standpoint and it keeps getting better.

You are all being great stewards with the opportunity.

It’s looked fine in the versions of Firefox (2.0.13, 2.0.14, 3.0, minefield) and IE (6, 7, 8 in 7 mode) that I’ve used. Nothing looks right in IE 8 in 8 mode.

Whow! I like this too! It’s completely in the ‘Web 2.0 design standards’ if I may say so (ment as a compliment).
Maybe one little thing… the box I’m typing this into is pretty hard to see in Safari. Once found and clicked on it has a very fitting blue edge around it, so no really big deal, but still.

@Leslie: after hours of searching, I finally found the bug that was breaking the theme. Everything should work in all browsers (except IE6, but people shouldn’t use that browser anyway).

Two sites were broken, and I kept searching for a common bug. It turned out there were TWO bugs that, independent from each other, caused the same symptom. That’s why I couldn’t find it.

I felt like House MD – wondering why my patients kept getting sick, eliminating one cause after another until I finally found the solution. I’m relieved the patient came alive

Hm… Leslie, I think you just found a bug. In Internet Explorer 7, the pictures don’t appear; in all the other browsers I tested, they do.

I need a patron saint for IE bugs.

I like it! Like people are saying, much brighter & “cheerier” (*LOL* Is that a word?) than the dark colors. My only complaint is the big black box at the top of the page where the pictures for the different shows used to be. But I’m sure that’ll be fixed. So, like I said, good job!
