After nearly five years I also am nearly 95% spoiler or insider info free. I've scanned all the materials but was able to ignore the vast majority of content.

Your discussions are on topic. Love hearing what you think.

Hey Boris,

Thanks for the feedback!

============== SPOILER CLUE? ============
You know, Ron Moore is a bit of a tease. And it drives me nuts. Like the admiral pips on Tigh's wardrobe... he says that it could be a clue as too who the last Cylon is OR it could a mistake in wardrobe. I mean, come on.
========== END SPOILER CLUE =============

To tell you the truth, I try to avoid his comments because as a literature geek I believe there is canon (what actually airs) and there is everything else (i.e. interviews, comic books, behind the scenes video logs, etc.). In a sense, I want the work to stand on its own two feet. However, I know that we should be somewhat informed on the contextual details - how events in this new BSG are shaped by the old BSG theology and recent history like 9/11, the Abu Graib scandal, etc.

I guess the point I am making is how much is too much information. When I used to participate in writers' critiques (which is BTW how I met my husband), I would be surprised at the extent to which Judeo-Christian imagery infused my writing. It certainly wasn't on purpose. I wonder if the BSG writers comprehend how religious the symbolism is. I know they understand on one level, but as you can tell, Jeff and I drill down pretty deep. In an offline discussion with my husband, we wondered about the blood/sacrifice imagery with Baltar (especially in The Hub) and if the images used were just a series of accidents that just so happened allude to a very specific aspect of Jesus' death ... or did they really know what they were doing all along.

Sorry. Long musing.
