A tip of the hat Greg... Thanks for your comments. I didn't say in was the Fr. Roderick Network, but the DB is about the only thing that interests me. No offense meant to your show, which has been around just as long.

I'll look for those changes you mention and hope they pan out. I will be patient too... and thanks for not "getting mad"...

Daily Breakfast #500 no later than December 31, 2008! Excellent. We will look forward to it.

I don't know all the things that Fr. R. has on his plate but I have picked up on some challenges he is addressing in his local parishes. We (the SQPN community) should send supportive prayers his way as Fr. R. and the Dutch Diocese address some confusions in the ranks. We don't want to lose the Dutch Catholic faithful that are also looking toward Father Roderick.

There may also be some non-church and non-SQPN related items Fr. R. is struggling with. More prayers for Fr. R.

In the mean time...thanks to the other SQPN broadcasters that are stepping up to fill the void. Good Job team!!

I would also encourage the SQPN team to begin to cast the net for the upcoming youth celebration in Australia. A great opportunity to grow the audience is available. I hope you can benefit from it and tap into the momentum from the youth that attend.

Your friend,
Jim

Dear Father Roderick:

Just finished listening to ALL previous episodes I could get from iTunes. Have also been getting into the Rosary Army recently. It all started with the SaintCast about a year ago - I stumbled across that looking for Catholic podcasts on iTunes. I think I am now a full-fledged SQPN fan - but credit must go to iTunes, because that's where I found you.

Really looking forward to episode 500! God bless everyone at SQPN.

Best regards,
Jesse

Michael -

Loyalty has nothing to do with it, and I hope no one attacks you. I also don't blame you for not wanting to check multiple social networking sites to get info.

The thing is that SQPN is not just "the Father Roderick network," so it would seem odd to keep posting personal messages about Father Roderick on the front page of SQPN.

We are working on many things behind the scenes for the SQPN audience, and one of the things we're working on is a way to more clearly provide you with information along the lines of what you're asking. And personally, if you listened to the latest Rosary Army, you'd have heard about some other personal issues we're dealing with. And I know that in addition to the time sensitive behind the scenes work, Father Roderick has been busy with meetings in his own diocese, as well, to which he also has responsibilities.

So I'll repeat what Father asked for a few weeks ago and please just be patient with us. We truly are doing our best. And you're right, this network is for all of you who are supporting these efforts. That's why we sometimes have to step back from the microphone to handle the business issues that also accompany running this non-profit.

Thanks for your understanding and patience. And I guarantee you that you'll get Daily Breakfast #500 no later than December 31, 2008. That way, if it comes early, you'll have something to get excited about. :)

Why do you say "just kidding" Matt? You now have to check Twitter, Plurk and heaven knows what other social networking sites. Some of us won't do that.

In years past when Fr. R. took a hiatus, he told everyone... on the SQPN web site...

Fr. R. also spoke of building up listenership. When one does not hear what has happened to this podcast since June 20th, I would say a lot of folks may have unsubscribed. You won't find much on the "official" website.

Christian wrote on one of the other blogs asking Greg about video of the CNMC... He finished by saying "Don't get mad"... I must say, Greg was very nice about it. But "Don't get mad" ??? Who is this network for?

Okay, that's it... now you can all attack me for being disloyal.

@Mary & TJ

According to the twitter updates on http://fatherroderick.sqpn.com/2008/07/07/twitter-updates-for-2008-07-07/ it seems he is still alive but just a little busy

For a firefighter like me it's always good to hear that someone is OK , you never know

But I slightly get the impression his absence is just a trick to promote subscription to his twitter update feed :-) :-) No just kidding

Fr. R,

Enjoy your last day in Georgia and safe travels tommorrow. At least I think I read you are planning to leave Georgia on Wednesday.

I am still looking forward to Episode 500. It looks like my extending the earlier congratulatory post was a bit early.

Are you intentionally clearing out of the U.S. before the July 4th fireworks. It's understandable if you wanted to avoid fourteen year olds with cherry bombs.

By the way, can we get prayers so people in the U.S. can switch to the European approach to vacations? Two weeks once a year seems too little time for the average American.

Or was this a business trip? I'm sure it was enjoyable to spend time with the Georgia SQPN team either way. You may need to find a way to do the SQPN work pool side from Georgia. Two weeks between daily breakfast broadcasts seems to lead to DB and UStream withdrawl symptoms. Like, catching up on some cleaning.

Regards,
Jim

Fr. Roderick,
Just listened to show #499 and want to tell you
I make elastic bracelet rosaries and these can be made to fit anyone. An elderly gentleman in our parish wanted to pass on his skill of making traditional rosaries to a younger group and Jerry, age ,showed me how to make them with wire and Job's tears but they took too long for me and I decided to make bracelets hoping our young people would wear them. I design each one and use the Job's tears, a seed we grow, or the colorful plastic and glass beads. I do not have a website but they can send a request to my old e-mail address I check reqularly for information - jott720@insightbb.com. Please put rosary info in the heading so I will open it.

I would ask your prayers for me as I am in the midst of a heavy depression after the loss of a sister and a close friend as well as a few other friends and relatives that I have shared life with. This depression has been an on going battle since age 29 and I will soon be 63. Every time I think I have conquered it, the depression seems to come back with a vengance. Part of it is chemical and I am under constant watchful treatment.

Keep up the good work. I enjoy listening to your show and one day I will learn how to untether myself from the computer like the cardinals want to do and use my mp3 player.
It is a really hot day here in Kentucky and I just had landscape work done so I am keeping my fingers crossed. The last time it rained so hard they didn't kill the weeds and we were constantly weeding. This time we have perennial plants which need to survive. It's one thing or the other.
God bless!

Fr. I'm not sure where to leave this, but you might want to add a pause button on the SQPN pod catcher game (see link at end). Thanks!

Capt. Jeff, the sound of the heat press wasn't ennoying or anything! It was really fun to hear, you could tell father was somewhere else and somebody was busy making things! No it was a real good background sound :)

Man, that was an episode that took me back.
I've been listening to the show since ep 50, and some of the themes and jingles haven't been out for some time! (i think some stopped at ep 250 or so, where you desided to cut some music off the show, and then we have the music man...) but, that was something! :)

So, I have started working on a blog in Wordpress. The design is all there... just need to draft my first post. I will be limited to working on it in the evenings when I'm home from work. No blogging on company time -- but I do listen to podcasts while I work ;) Actually, I should be leaving home now for work.... have a great blessed day!

It was so cool being a part of the "World Famous" Daily Breakfast! I'm truly blessed to have had many opportunities to spend time with Fr. Roderick. In case you're wondering, he's the "real deal." What you hear on the podcasts is the real Father Roderick!

Yes, Barb is right about the beeping sound in the background. It's the alarm on my heat press that lets me know the time is up, and it's time to lift the heating/pressing element off of the shirt. Had I known what a racket that was making, I would have paused my t-shirt printing during the recording! Oh well. The other contraption you saw in the uStream broadcast is my 4-color manual screen printing press, which I use for most of the SQPN shirts.

It was GREAT meeting so many of the SQPN fans at the EC and CNMC!

I'm wearing my new Catholic Under the Hood t-shirt. The CNMC was such a blessing. I enjoyed hearing the voices in person. I keep thinking I want to start a blog and see where it goes.

Sorry I couldn't be at CNMC either. I was riding in a charity bike ride and understood a little bit about what Greg Willits must have gone through last November in the Atlanta marathon. It was really hard going on Sunday but I had the Lord with me and I know I had some prayers from the SQPN crowd as well.

Congratulations on the 500th episode! I like Father Roderick's earlier idea of the goal being 10,000!

It is also good to read some of the early posts that indicated CNMC was a successful event and attendees were inspired and enjoyed themself.

One observation...is it just me...or does the word "groupies" sound condescending?

My vote...lose the word "groupies". It seems to elevate one group at the expense of another. That's a bad approach.

Go with "enthusiastic supporters" or something similar.

Looking forward to hearing the 500th and the next 9500.

Great meeting you today at CNMC, and chatting with you about LOTRO. Liz and I grabbed us a few of those t-shirts being made in the background.

Oh, what a wonderful day. The Holy Spirit was truly with us! Thank you, Father Roderick, and to all the SQPN Family. I feel so blessed to have been to both the Conyers coffee shop meet-and-greet and now the first CNMC. When folks were meeting each other today and giving their "credentials" all I could say is that I am a listener. Later one of the ladies introduced me to another by saying that I am one of Father Roderick's groupies. Hey, nothing wrong with that title...I'll take it!

Hi Father,
Really sorry I can't be at the CNMC. I've just got so much traveling this year and both time & money are tight. Of course, audio advice is available by remote control as always.
Prayers and best wishes for a great event.

The beeping sound, heard in the background, is from Capt Jeff's t-shirt making machines. I'm assuming the beeping means the image has been transfered onto the shirt. It appeared like he had 4 machines. I was watching on Father's UStream channel while he was recording this.

Hope you're finding time to enjoy the Eucahristic Congress and CNMC in addition to all the responsibilities you are trying to handle this weekend.

I have not listened to this one just yet. I've just gotten home from the Friday night opening services of the Atlanta Eucharistic Congress. I attended the healing Mass that included adoration. The first person I met tonight is someone from Tulsa who came early for the CNMC. Awesome! I love Chik-fil-a..... I went to the original one in Hapeville GA when I was small enough to walk through the dwarf door.

I'll be there bright and early Sunday AM to help with set up.

Peace,
Jan
