If viewing an adoration chapel online helps you to concentrate on the Holy Name Of Jesus, I would imagine it would be helpful. But it’s just not the same.
What would be more satisfying, spending time with friends in person or via webcam?
I don’t believe Eucharistic Adoration is mandated by the Catholic Church, but there’s something special and awe-inspiring about being in the same room with Jesus.
As to watching Mass on TV, I would guess that if there were no other way to get to Mass, it might suffice, it was good enough for St. Isidore. And you can have a Eucharistic Minister bring the Body of Christ to you.
But remember, part of the celebration of the Mass is the communion with the other members of the church.

It was reported in the Atlanta paper that the IMAX machine broke at The Mall of Georgia theater. I think it was the first showing of the day for The Dark Knight. The theater had to cancel the IMAX showings for the day. Some people had driven a very long distance to see the IMAX version.
Thanks for your comments on the World Youth Day. I was watching some of it on EWTN yesterday, especially, the final Mass and farewell addresses. Maybe it was me, but the comments in the past of Benedict’s interest in classical music, really came through while I was watching. The Pope was tired, I’m sure, and during a sort of pop/blues solo singer, he seemed subdued. Then came orchestral strains of a classical piece with another solo singer in a lovely piece. I swear it was as if he sat up, opened his eyes, and perked up. That was kind of a neat impression I received even if it was my imagination.
Glad to hear you’re reading some comics Father. Hopefully you’re reading, “the good ones”. And I don’t mean DC over Marvel or Marvel over DC. To be honest. I haven’t really thought that one was better than the other in many, many years. Although sometimes I’m more in the mood to read one type or the other. I also read a lot of Dark Horse comics, Image comics, independent comics, Manga and whatever other brand of comics catches my attention. As long as they are good reads, I’ll read them.
That being said, right now, some of the best comics out are being written by a guy called Brian Michael Bendis. He’s so good, he’s practically writing all the Marvel books by himself. In my review of the Iron man movie, under the picture, I posted some of the ones I’ve read and recommend. They are really good. Ever wanted to see what Spiderman and Wolverine would be like if they were on a team with Captain America and Iron Man? Now you can. It’s great fun.
I’ve also heard the World War Hulk story line and the Planet Hulk story line that preceded it are really good. Since you’re a Hulk TV show fan, I thought you’d probably like to read the comic that inspired it. They don’t have too much in common with each other except that the Hulk is in both. Here’s the description of the Planet Hulk story:
“Savage alien planet! Oppressed barbarian tribes! Corrupt emperor! Deadly woman warrior! Gladiators and slaves! Battle axes and hand blasters! Monsters and heroes… and the Incredible Hulk! Let the smashing commence! This deluxe hardcover collects the entire “Planet Hulk” saga, plus extras!”
and the World War Hulk Description:

The Identity Crisis story line in the DC universe, is also really really good. Highly recommend it. Can’t recommend it enough. The repercussions of the that story line created a snow ball effect that changed the entire DC universe, and all the heroes in it.
But by far, the best way to get to know the DC universe without doing any work, is by watching the WB and Cartoon network animated shows. They are very close to what reading the comics is like. I wrote about them on my blog, and I even found clips to show everyone what they are like. I recommend them all.
Okay, that’s enough of my geekery. I can’t help it. It’s Comic Con week.
