  1. I heard a very interesting discussion about Catholicism in America today on NPR radio.

  2. Father, in english, she is called St. Teresa the Little Flower. In France, she is mainly called ‘La petite Thérèse.’
In Paris, there is La Chapelle de la Médaille Miraculeuse (where the Virgin Mary appeared to St Catherine Labouré), the chapel of the Vincentians, where the body of St Vincent de Paul is visible, also, in Montmartre, the Society of Jesus was founded by those first 7 Jesuits! Paris is full of incredible history and church history sites. There are even roman ruins in Paris where it is said (although no proof has been found) that early french christians were fed to the lions as the french Saint Blandine was! France is called “la fille ainée de l’Eglise” (the eldest daughter of the Church) and it is with good reason…
    Thanks again!

  3. When I joined the Catholic church, the first saint book I read was a biography of St. Francis. The second book I read was Story of a Soul, the autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux. The love poured out of those pages. Aside from St. Clare of Assisi, St. Therese the Little Flower is a favorite. Maybe I should read it again. I could use a refresher in loving her little way.

I’ve watched some of the Kitchen Nightmare episodes. Gordon Ramsay commented once in an interview that Americans like “angry Brits.” Perhaps he is somewhat drama for TV though I wouldn’t want to work in his kitchen. He must be the same on BBC though — not bleeped out and all. LOL Thanks for your insight on how they stage and edit the episodes. I expected some but they make it “unreal.”

  4. Dear Jan,

For a refresher about St. Therese, please see the comprehensive Web site about her life, writings, spirituality, mission, and the upcoming beatification of her mother and father at http://thereseoflisieux.org

  5. This is wonderful. Thank you Maureen.
