Has anybody seen pictures of Sarah holding her youngest child?

With all the excitement in the election, does anybody know if the kids are missing their parents? I saw a picture of Sarah and her husband getting on a plane and heading to Arizona to prepare for the debate on Thursday. Both parents are separated from their children. It must be tough for the kids.

I agree that there has been a lot made of Sarah Palin having a Down's syndrome child - but I am quite happy that there has been a lot of talk about it. In some countries (Spain/Canada) and most likely in the United States, over 80% of Down's children are aborted because of the antenatal diagnosis (which at times, is fallible). Perhaps one person's mind might be changed, and one precious child saved, by learning of her courageous decision through the media.

Katherine,

I suspect the Register focuses so much on abortion, is that most Catechism-reading, obedient Catholics agree on life issues. But once you get into social and economic issues, there can be real disagreements about how to **apply** Church teaching (think of the health care discussion y'all had a while back). And once people start disagreeing with the views in the paper they get all grumpy and start canceling their subscriptions. Because in America, we don't know how to disagree kindly and thoughtfully with each other anymore.

Dorothy Day and William F. Buckley are probably both preparing to enjoy, or already enjoying, the glory of heaven. They were faithful, solid, Catholics. But they didn't agree much about politics on earth.
