It intrigues me that, for you and for Greg and Jennifer, working in “new media” has led to greater outreach and ministry through “old media.”
I wish you every success in your endeavor. I hope for you, it turns out that you reach many.
Just do not do a complete greg and jeniifer on us but i agree with naomi how exciting. I thoguht something like this might happen to you too youare just too good
Hey Fr. Roderick,
A question from the last Peculiar Bunch. If it’s disrespectful to use the remains of a loved one to make jewelry (which I agree with), why do we dismember the saints and send pieces of their bodies hither and yon? When I attended St. Catherine parish we had a first class relic (a tiny piece of bone) of hers just to right of the entrance to the sanctuary and many of the faithful (myself included) would stop and ask her intercession on the way into mass out of love and respect. I think that it was a positive practice. I suppose things are different for saints, but you’d have a hard time convincing me that my mother isn’t now a member of the communion.
Also, a note from an earlier show. We’ve all tried the macaroni and cheese from the blue box, but that’s like thinking a fast food hockey puck is a real hamburger. My sister makes a mac-n-cheese that would knock your socks off–a bechamel sauce with about five different types of cheeses. Combine with warm bread and butter and a cold malty beer and you’ve got more proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. Here’s a link to a video that will show you the basics:

Congrats on the new shows and keep up the good work.
Hi Father,
Did you know that Bear Grylls is a devout Catholic? If you Google him and find his web site you can read all about it. The short version is that he was a special forces soldier in the UK’s Special Air Service and had a bad parachuting accident that almost left unable to walk ever again. He overcame that disability miraculously. Now if you notice at the start of each show, as he’s about to jump out of his helicopter, he crosses himself.
I believe he’s also a spokesman for the Catholic version of the Alpha program in Britain. I think that’s pretty cool and would make a neat role model for young men and boys.
I wouldn’t worry too much about McDonald’s — they’re corporate evil of the first rank. Not just the generally unhealthy food, do I mean, but they’re also (in the US at least) radically anti-Christian, giving money to social causes you and I couldn’t without risking being guilty of mortal sin. I used to work in management there for some years, and they’ve got quite the lavender mafia.
Fr. Can’t wait to hear the Dutch show!!!
