look at the contents of this.

  2. There must be some parishioners there who would be happy to transport you in bad weather!
    My goodness…
I’m getting this vision of the poor priest pedaling through the storm, balancing his umbrella, his flock splashing him with their speeding vehicles as they hurry to church, where they complain to each other that Fr. is late—gleefully dispatching their germ-laden offspring to infect him with the latest virus…
Sounds like a reality show:) Really, though, hope you feel better soon!

  3. @ TJ:
You have drawn a very vivid picture. :) I can even hear the thunder and feel the rain and see the evil germ-laden offsprings. ;) I almost feel obliged to drive to the Netherlands in order to drive Fr. Roderick for the time being. :) Just kidding! I have a weird sense of humor this morning.

  4. Hi Fr. Roderick,
There is something I don’t quite understand…… Why do you need to pay the rent for your rectory? Isn’t the Church suppose to provide the place to live for priests and the religious? Just wondering…… :?

  5. I too am wondering about why you have to give money to your own parish to live with a bunch of people. Also thanks for clearing up the misunderstand from PLurk the other day. Althought I din’t think you have to live in poverty it still is a unique experience to meet a priest like you. Keep up the good work. God Bless.

  6. Perhaps HD satellite receivers are still expensive, or perhaps it’s because you want one to take 4 LNBs, but you could get free-to-air satellite TV for a lot less, and €200 for a dish seems expensive, unless that includes the 4 LNBs. The German supermarket Lidl occasionally has satellite receivers for a lot less. Next week in Ireland, they have one with HDMI output (although it’s not clear if it actually handles HD channels) for €49.99 (www.lidl.ie). Lidl in the Netherlands will probably also have them some time.
