Good evening Fr. Roderick.
My name is Adam Dupre. I am an aspirant for the Salesians of Don Bosco. I came across your podcast ‘The Healthy Catholic’ this evening. One thing that I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I am now 21 years old. I weigh 320 pages, or 145.5 kilograms. My provincial here in the Eastern United States, has told my director that he wants me to lose a significant amount of weight. I am going to start today, October 28,2008 on trying to lose the weight. I do not have a plan at the moment, but I plan on listening to the rest of your ‘Healthy Catholic’ shows to get some ideas. Thank you for all that you do. Please pray for me!
God Bless you and your works!
Adam Dupre
Adam, I just want you to know that I’m praying for you and am so happy that you’re making this commitment to yourself and your vocation. Being healthy will give you more energy, which you will surely need in the future. I will keep you in my prayers and want you to know that you’ve inspired me with your comment! Lisa
Adam, you’re in my prayers. I’ve lost 40 pounds thus far and while the struggle has been difficult at times, it’s well worth it.
Hello Fr. Roderick,
I’m a regular Daily Breakfast, and Catholic Moments listener and I’ve just listened to the Healthy Catholic for the first time (Epsiode #5). Great Job! I found conversation regarding dieting vs fasting really interesting. It reminded me that next time I’m tempted to “binge” on something a that is not a healthy choice, I remember to pray and ask for God’s help instead of relying on my own willpower.
Blessings,
Christiana
Adam, I am starting today to lose 20lbs myself! Colin how you doing it? Great for you keep working at it. I enjoy your contributions to other SQPN shows. Fr. Roderick, love the show, trying to figure out my strategy. Can’t wait for Tuesday’s show.
