Oh, and if you do have Questions about Linux or Audacity, I'll do my best to answer them. Might I suggest the Going Linux Podcast for starters, and maybe the Fresh Ubuntu Podcast also.

Hello Father, While I was not raised a Catholic, I'm enjoying your podcast immensely, 2 times over. AND learning something about Catholicism. I'm finding that I have had some bad misconceptions. Also finding some comfort in your podcasts. All of the SQPN podcasts that I've heard. Something I wouldn't have expected. - Please feel free to email me, or follow me on twitter (@thenose100) I would be honored.

The New American Bible (NAB) translation used at Mass isn't a good translation (it isn't even always good English), but it is actually an improvement (in places) over the the NAB one can buy in the Catholic book store. A revised lectionary was released in the late '90s, but those changes haven't been included in the freestanding NAB. (And it is my [very limited] understanding that there is no plan to do so.)

When I was 9 or 10 (so around 1971), I used the money I received for Christmas to buy a Bible (St. Joseph's Edition of the NAB). Even at that tender age, I was surprised as I read it how clumsy the English in the text itself often was, and the notes were not infrequently at odds with what I knew quite well to be official Church teaching. (I haven't bothered to read them in a long time, so I can't say just what they problems were.) They were very discouraging for this young Catholic.
