This is a very funny episode.
My only complaint: I don’t like cliffhangers.
The idea how to release those soundseeing tours sounds amazing! It would be fantastic! Believe me, there are many listeners out there, who would love to listen to those files – even if they are not edited that much!
Hi Father Roderick,
I lived in Greece and graduated from highschool there. I am surprised that you did not take a taxi. I always took a taxi, never the bus. I am enjoying the episode and I have been for the past 4 years I believe. Ingrid
Hi Father
another great way to put out all this great content that you have in the SQPN archives would be to:
- simply add a new segment to the Daily Breakfast, such as the “Daily Journey”, where you would play short excerpts (3-4 minutes) of the adventures that you experienced abroad
- besides the soundseeing tours also recorded interviews would fit great into the Daily Breakfast: your interviewing technique is awesome
- here you could also use live audio material recorded in your parishes in Amersfort or when you go to places like Amsterdam (in the past you used live audio material much more often – loved it !!!!)
Keep up the great work
Stan
What was the name of the hotel you stayed in?
Sounds like a great place.
Sorry Father Roderick, it is hard to justify sending you a donation in these tough economic times. Many of us are unemployed and don’t even have the money to pay the bills. A Greece trip is a little hard to swallow while your pleading for money.
@Mark: The trip to Greece wasn’t a vacation – I recorded 12+ hours of documentaries for SQPN. On top of that, the flight was payed with a voucher so it didn’t cost anything AND I payed for all other costs out of my own pocket.
So even though I worked that whole week for SQPN, the cost for SQPN was zero.
Just so you know..
Waiting anxiously for the completion of your cliffhanger…
Also, thought you should know that not everyone feels the same as Mark in his comments. Keep up the great work SQPN is doing great things!!
Sending a little extra donation after reading Mark’s comment…you are loved and appreciated! Have a blessed Holy Week!
I renewed my pledge for the year and also included an increase.
Father, you share so much of yourself and your life with us throughout the year…and you truly do have an impact on many, many people. Not only is my spirtual life improved, but now I am eating much healthier, and run on a regular basis. At 48– I am planning on my first half marathon in Montreal in September — two years ago, I would have told anyone they were crazy if they thought I would ever attempt something like that! Pope Benedict XVI made an observation about the Christian Message: is not just “informative” — but also “perfomrative” — “meaning the Gospel is not merely a communication of things that can be known—it is one that makes things happen and is life-changing.” (Spe Salvi #2) I think this also describes your show — we listen to not just be entertained — but it does change how we live our lives.
Thank you for all you do in your vocation — and God bless you in the coming year!
Tony
